A Modern Family - X Factor smackdown, a fired 'Housewife' fights back, and a cute TV couple
welcomes their first child. I'm Alex and I've got the latest TV scoop in today's Reel TV
News. Last night's X Factor premiere may have been
Fox's biggest fall series debut in 5 years, but it just wasn't good enough to beat out
January's American Idol premiere, or last night's Modern Family premiere. Modern Family
earned a total of 14.3 million viewers, with X Factor trailing behind at 12.5 million.
Modern Family's Steve Levitan tweeted his joy, stating, "It's extremely gratifying that
a scripted comedy finally beat an overhyped karaoke contest." Ouch.
After four years as one of the original Housewives of New York City, Jill Zarin along with 3
other members of the cast were given the boot. Jill fired back with a public statement on
ABC News, in which she slammed the show, saying "it's a toxic environment" that took her months
to come down from and advises fellow damaged housewives, Beverly Hills' Taylor Armstrong
in particular, to avoid the spotlight and not come back to the show. In the meantime,
Jill has teased on her blog that her fans can see her in a new show coming soon. Would
you tune in to a Jill spin-off? And finally, Emily Deschanel of Bones and
her hubby, David Hornsby of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and new series How To Be A
Gentleman, are now proud parents of a baby boy, Henry Hornsby. The TV duo have been married
since 2010 and this is their first child. Congratulations to the happy family, and don't
forget to check back tomorrow for more of the latest TV buzz from SideReel.
