The Biography in Context database contains biographies on over
525,000 people.
In this database, you'll find articles from academic journals, magazines, and
newspapers as well as reference book entries and images.
To get started, you can either Browse a list of people or enter the full or
partial name of an individual.
We'll use "Monet" for this example.
This list contains individuals that have share the name "Monet".
The painter Claude Monet is featured first and even has a suggested topic
page.
Let's take a look at this first.
The first part of this topic page is a summary of Monet's life and
works.
The types of information available on Monet are listed on the right.
The articles are organized into different sections below including:
academic journals,
reference entries, featured content, and magazines.
You can click on the View All link to see a full list of articles for a particular
information type.
Back on the results screen, let's take a look at the information for the next
Monet on the list.
As you can see,
the information about this person is layed out differently.
On this page, the information types are displayed on the left.
You can view the all articles for a section by clicking on the link on the left side
or by clicking on the section heading.
Now we can see all 17 reference entries for this individual.
To view an article, click on its title.
The full text of the article appears below.
