Welcome to this year-end wrap up of the Siren News. Here's a taste of what made 2013 such
an interesting siren year. • La Vie Sirene magazine launched, with
more than 100 thousand views from non-subscribers since publishing June's premiere Mermaid Issue
• Just a few month's later, in September, the Siren News kicked off with volunteer gnuscasters
getting out the news every week since... often in suitably silly & creative ways
• Siren School also started up a CafePress shop which is brimming with custom-logo merchandise
and art created by member of Siren Lagoon
• As for Siren Lagoon, the feel-good group for females on Facebook, its warm welcoming
waters enticed a few denizens to get out of their comfort zones by trying new things and
testing their boundaries in meaningful and productive ways... which is what Siren School
is all about
• E Gads Hill Press began plugging away -- posting contributor content that doesn't
fit the magazine's monthly theme, but deserved to be shared. This is where your may find
stories that are more adult in nature, which you can usually find on Facebook's Tempted
page
• You may also hear selected poems and short stories from E. Gads Hills shared on the new
Writing Out Loud Youtube channel. We have a few videos at the ready, just waiting for
the holidays to wind down before posting them. If you'd like to participate as a volunteer
on-camera reader, contact us on Facebook or by way of the Youtube channel
• Siren School began offering cruises and all manner of in-depth fantasy travel experiences
through their new Mythic Adventures program. Go treasure-hunting with pirates in Cozumel,
hunt for Vampires in N'Awlins, play a G-man or Gangster in 1930's Chicago, or a dozen
other exotic, interactive experiences
• Cup of Mystery, the whodunits you solve over tea poured onto the scene, with 3 different
kinds of games awaiting your sleuthing. You may order and play them on your own, or join
in the action when Siren School hosts the games live online
• A couple of reminders before we say goodbye to 2013. Siren School is offering a 6-week
online Love Yourself Lovely love yourself lean opportunity. As the name suggests, it's
about loving yourself and expressing loveliness to the best of your ability. Come shed unwanted
habits, thoughts, pounds, and 'stuff.' The cost is a piddly $20.14 with all of the proceeds
going to The Untouched, Siren School's philanthropy benefitting women who have experienced domestic
abuse
• Also, this is a great time for enrolled Siren School students to tally up and cash
in on their PLUNDER ducats rewards. If you need help, just contact Siren School on Facebook
or at Gmail.com and Joy will get you sorted out
• La Vie Sirene will host its monthly issue kickoff party in January with a 2014 Wishes
virtual event on New Year's Day, from 6-7pm PST. What better way to start the new year
than by sharing your hopes and dreams with friends who support you. Drop in for a moment
if you can. We'd love to say hello!
• I'm Joy de Vivre, and on behalf of everyone in the siren community, Happy New Year, thank
you, and we love you. Mwah!
