Hi, I am Karina Fraley for Expert Village and I am showing you how to finish your burping
cloth. So when you get to the corner you are going to stop about a stitch away from the
edge. You are going to turn your wheel to get your needle all the way down, you lift
up the foot, you turn your fabric towards you and then you put your foot down and that
will give you just a nice clean line so that you don't have to stop and start your stitching.
And that is basically how you round corners and that is how you round corners for anytime
you need to round a corner. That is where we are going to stop, that stitch away, turn
the wheel, lift up the foot, turn the fabric, put the foot back down and keep going with
our stitch. Basically remember to guide the fabric through, you are not going to want
to push it or pull it through, the machine does the work for itself. But don't let it
get away from you either. Just make sure that you are feeding it in a nice straight line,
just guiding it very gently. Now when you get close to the end, I slow my speed down,
then when you get about a stitch away from the end you just do a back stitch, that will
keep everything in place. Pull it out, cut your thread and then you are just going to
clean up your edges. Just get your scissors and any loose threads just go ahead and cut
them. If you make two or three of these, you can also use different colors on the back
if you want to make a few different variations and then they actually make a very nice addition
to any gift set that you are going to give with a blanket. So there you have it, a cute
little burping pads. I did a white one, here I have a blue one. I probably go ahead and
iron them, you do want them to be nice and pressed when you package them. But you just
add them to your blanket, you wrap some tool or some ribbon around it and it really is
just a nice touch. It is a great gift for any mom and if you wanted another variation
on the blanket this is actually a Chenille one that I did and again this would be a winter
one. So as you can see we have one with a Chanille back or one with a flannel back,
and one with a satin back and so there are lots of different variations that you can
make. You can make burping cloths and blankets and just go out there and have a lot of fun
doing it.
