Hi! We are here, in Spannabis 2013, we are with Simon, de founder of Serious Seeds Bank
And well, now our mate Edu will ask him some questions, ok?
Hola Simon. Hi Simon! Nice to meet you. We are going to make you a few questions about your new variety, about Serious Six.
What you can tell about that new strain?
Welcome to start, the first thing. I can tell you that we’ve been working on this strain for a couple of years
And it’s because it is an outdoor strain, specially developed for outdoors situation
In Holland and countries around Holland, for that type of climates.
For Spain… I don’t know how it will perform in Spain.
It’s made to be ready very soon, for outdoor, and it’s very mold resistant.
It is a very beautiful plant to see, it is color pink, you know, the hairs are pink color. It is very beautiful.
It has a very nice aroma..., for the smell.
So… I think it’s now good enough to start selling, you know?
The reason why took so long is we can only test it once a year
Because only once a year you can put the plants outside
And you can see, and then you prepare for the next year, and you can test it outside
So last year, we tested it outside, and we had about 20-25 different combinations of parents, father and mother… 25 different…
And then we said, this is the best! Now we can start producing
Then we are in the process now, so that takes some time to have enough to multiply
Make clones of the father, the mother, and then make the seeds…
So I hope that this time, in time for the outdoor season, we have enough seeds to start selling
So this is about May, we have the seeds to start selling.
And what you think about this strain, it will be possible to be grown in Spain?
In the northern Spain the weather is very wet too.
Yes! This is perfect! This plant is perfect for that, because it’s very mold resistant so, no problems with mold!
It’s a sativa plant, and sativas are very good against mold, you know?
So that’s a good thing. It’s ready in a very short time, what is very special for a sativa
So, indoors, under the light, it takes eight weeks to be ready, which is very quick
May be would interest people for growing it indoors, for having a sativa plant with a very short time
And for outdoors it’s just very nice, so if where you live you have very bad conditions
Very much moisture in the air, where fungus is a problem, that plant will be perfect!
