Angelo State University is more than just a place to receive your degree. It's a community
where students come together to live, work and play throughout the year.
Living on campus is not only a great way to meet new people, but it also allows you to
be close to your classes. With seven residence halls to choose from
and a wide variety of floor plans, there's sure to be a place just for you. You'll have
the chance to attend a wide variety of residential programs or simply relax in style in modern,
updated residence halls. Each of our residence halls has its own community
and distinct living environment. First-year students have the option of living in any
of these residence halls: Plaza Verde, Centennial Village, Robert Massie, or Mary Massie.
What I found best about living on campus was, you're able to just have everything right
here. It's very convenient. You don't have to worry about driving. You don't have to
worry about parking. It's convenient for your classes. And that's where you meet all your
friends. I mean, you meet them in the dorms. You meet them in the residential halls.
Choosing where to eat is never a problem here on campus. ASU offers several dining options
to satisfy a wide range of appetites. Students living on campus choose among three meal plan
options, giving them access to dining locations spread throughout the campus, such as the
University Center, the coffee and sandwich shop in the Library Learning Commons, burgers
and snacks at Roscoe's Den, or any of the numerous meal stations located in the Food
Service Center. I like to eat at the cafeteria because they
have variety. Um, it is the cafeteria just because it's
a meal. It's a buffet. Yeah, I eat over at the UC sometimes and also
at Roscoe's Diner. Uh, at the UC, because it's closer to all
my classes and you get good food really fast. Here at the UC because they have giant slices
of pizza. Here at ASU there's a lot going on outside
the classroom as well. ASU plays host to over one hundred student organizations as well
as numerous yearly events, such as Rambunctious Weekend, Family Day, Homecoming Week, and
many more. Well, I'm involved in the Student Government
Association because I'm majoring in political science, so this is great training for a future
career in politics. Also, I wanted to have a voice in the future of ASU.
Joining the Advertising Club allowed me to gain hands-on experience in an area that I'm
really passionate about - building advertising and working with an advertising campaign.
And I really enjoyed it because I was able to gain experience from my other students,
my colleagues, and from professors. There are plenty of activities to do here
on campus: climb the rock wall, visit the Global Immersion Center, or participate in
one of our many intramural sports teams. There's also a variety of excitement to be found off
campus. The ASU Lake House is open to students and faculty, and UREC offers hiking, biking,
and camping throughout different locations in the state.
