Hello, I am Jennifer Dunphy, with Vayu Media. Welcome
to this week’s Internet marketing minute. Every day I speak with CEO’s and business
owners just like you, and one thing that they always ask me is; How do we go about creating
an effective link building strategy? Implementing a strong and effective Link Building
Strategy is critical to a successful SEO campaign. This is also one of the trickier pieces of
the puzzle. It is evergreen and never ending. Think of each inbound link to your website
as a vote of confidence, or a popularity contest. The more inbound links, the better… the
cooler your website is. However, the quality and relevancy of these links is every bit
as important as the quantity. Furthermore, it matters what anchor text is being used
to link to your site. What are other sites saying about your website
by how they link to you? So rather than having a link that says Vayu Media, I would prefer
a link that says Atlanta SEO Company . You want the anchor text to be keywords that are
relevant to your site rather than your business name. Then Google will associate you with
the things that you do, not just who you are. You will also want to make sure that you are
attracting relevant, high quality websites to link to your site. Linking with low quality
or spammy sites can actually hurt your website rankings. A great way to facilitate the link
building process is by utilizing social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Google+.
Write a captivating blog post, share it on the social networks and let the linking fest
begin. Guest blogging on authority industry sites is another great strategy to generate
quality inbound links. Establish yourself as an industry expert and the links will follow.
To enhance your websites visibility, you can also invite well known guest bloggers to contribute
to your site creating synergy with other industry related blogs and communities. Once you get
this process going, don’t stop. Some links are permanent, some are temporary, some are
paid, some are free. They come from many places throughout the web. The key is continuous
link building!
