In this image the low-level descriptors
can be easily agreed upon. There is a person in the ground
and the larger group of people killig him with rocks. But what about
the high level descriptors
Who are the good guys and the bad guys? Is this a spiritual way of solving matters?
Or a deeply wicked one?
Depending on who you ask you will get contradicting answers
Ask an extremist Muslim and things are explained.. These are the good guys
doing the will of Allah, according to the Coran, and therefore
its old deeply spiritual. Ask this guy in the ground
and assuming he wasn't Muslim he'll say
He's the good guy, and these are the bad guys that kill people
for minor acts like smiling at a woman on the street. it's not clear who this is
and what they may have done. The point is that in order to reach an agreement
we have to ask the right questions and use low-level descriptors
Furthermore, each time you see anyone
trying to use high-level words
assume they have an agenda and they're looking to control and manipulate
The stoning itself is possible because
this guy convinced these other guys of his speculations
The speculations are that there is an Allah in the sky
Allah sent a Prophet, the Prophet wrote a book
and the book says you should kill people for the adulter. He also speculates that
smiling
at a woman is adultery, therefore the man should be killed.
If we remove the speculations and
high level descriptors from his thinking we are left with this
a group of men is a **** by other men with a book that says you should kill
people for smiling
most people would seem dismiss them
as lunatics
however accepting his high level descriptors and assuming they are real
makes stoning possible
