Hello Wolverines!
My name is Michael Proppe, and I am your student body president. On behalf of your Central
Student Government, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the University of Michigan and the
Community Matters course.
The student experience at Michigan is unlike any other in the country. Nowhere else can
you find this level of academic excellence combined with such a fantastic social scene.
Few college towns offer as much to do as Ann Arbor, MI—it is part of what makes up the
Michigan Difference. But, whether you're walking home from the library on a Monday night before
your exam, out with friends on a Friday night after a grueling school week, or heading to
the Big House on a Saturday to watch the Wolverines Beat Ohio, the safety of you
and your fellow Wolverines is of great importance. This course will help you navigate some of
those very situations. Of course, it is important for you to know, all of your answers are confidential.
And you also have a shot at winning some great prizes once you complete the course.
So, take this course now, learn a little, and prepare yourself for an amazing year.
I look forward to seeing all of you on campus soon. In the meantime, feel free to shoot
me an email or send me a tweet introducing yourself.
Go Blue, Stay in the Blue, and get ready for the best years of your life as a Michigan
Wolverine.
