Peter Herbild, the semi-final which ended with a loss in overtime is over now.
A game which did go much back and forth: Towers started out with a lead, then it got even,
then Towers got in front again, then it was even and then we lost in the end.
What can you tell us about the way the game went back and forth?
It's a game where we start out really well,
but we unfortunately have a tendency to let them back in the game throughout the game.
We aren't really aware of our opportunities for closing the game.
Looking from the sideline it looked like in the
beginning of the game Casper Jensen, especially,
had problems with finding room to run the ball,
and as the game progressed he got more room and gained more yards.
Did you make any adjustments to give him more space
or was it simply a matter of exhausting the opponent?
No, we had a clear expectation that Søllerød would have a
chance to shut down our run game with the coaches they've got,
and the time they have had to prepare.
We had to see what they did before we could make our
adjustments which gave him more space to run the ball.
It seemed like both teams were nervous on the field.
Both teams had drives which only were kept alive
based on long, big penalties for the opponent.
Did the players seem nervous prior to the game,
or was it just good game planning from both teams?
I think both teams were nervous.
The emotions and nerves get a bit bigger in a semi-final game,
and that is the reason we see these slightly stupid mistakes from both teams.
The penalties were spread out evenly today, but it is definitely two nervous teams.
If we look a bit further behind that just today,
then Towers hold a score of ten wins and one loss for the season.
Can you be satisfied with this season, minutes after a very unfortunate loss?
I am satisfied with the season as a coach,
but it doesn't mean much on a personal level that we won ten games in the season.
There is of course also a season after this game,
which will start about half a year from now.
How do you see the chances for Towers in the upcoming season?
I think our chances are very good.
Towers is doing the best job with junior players in Denmark, and have done it for years.
That's also what feeds the senior team on the field today.
We need to get better on certain positions and at some things,
but I definitely see a bright future for Towers.
The job with the junior players which means Towers got a team
in the U16 final this year, and a team in the U19 final.
So surely the team of the future.
Are there any tactical things you can say we need to work on by now?
Are there any things you would like Towers to get better at next year?
It's to early by now to talk about the tactical things,
because we don't have a full overview of the players we have for next year,
neither on offense or defense.
We have to see who we have available before we can make any changes.
But we have a team with relatively young players,
and when you find yourself in an over time situation this may show.
We have been in a semi-final many times before,
but we have never felt we were as close as this year.
It will definitely make a difference to grow a year older,
get some new players advancing from the junior team
and another year to work with the players.
Last, but now least: Towers have had more success while you have been in charge.
Will you continue on next year?
I have an expectation I do.
Thank you.
