Interviewer: In some communities, you guys would be going at it like
pit bulls.
Male: I don't look at it like that. I think that, ultimately, we're all
balleting in the global marketplace. There's still . . . you've
got to be civil with people and learn from them. I think I'd
rather be friends than clashing too much.
Interviewer: Who have been the biggest influences, not just in your
business, but in your life?
Male: A couple that come to mind. I had a mentor through university, Lucas
[inaudible: 00:26]; he runs a company called Red Knee, which is
a software company. He's a Waterloo grad, as well. On the other
end, there's people that I've maybe never met but definitely
look up to; guys like Elon Musk. Just people like that are
really inspiring in how much they've been able to accomplish;
building 3 massively complex companies at the same time, and
really, world-changing companies.
Interviewer: Guys that are going to change the world.
Male: Guys that are going to change the world, but also, just people I've
met that are great at specific things. Even in the community
here, you're interviewing Mike Lit, Mike McCauley, and look a
lot at how successful they've been.
