So the types of collaging materials that you want to have at your ready so that you can
use, is any types of paper that is either printed, or patterned, or colored. That you
are sort of working towards achieving. One of the things that I like to do is paint my
own paper. Because then it sort of makes me a more integral part of the piece itself.
But that doesn't mean to say that pieces that are done with other painted papers that are
found, such as this piece I have here, aren't just as valuable. But painting your own paper
actually also helps you with being able to find the color that you're looking for. Rather
than flipping through so many magazines and trying to find an actual tone or value. You
can just paint it yourself. Another way of working, is that I've done some monoprinting.
Cutting out different shapes of the prints that I've made. And working with paper that's
already printed on in some fashion. Some of these dyed papers are really beautiful to
work with. I do caution you however using the dyed papers because they do tend to bleed
a little bit. And then make sure you have yourself an ample supply of magazines and
old book papers. Because you can use all different types of color pallets from those.
