KATHRYN: I think candidates should consider if they would like to work in a place
that has an
excellent for personal record,
not only in our department, but campus-wide. I think candidates need to consider
if they'd like
a medium-sized city
that has
a very active
evening life
and can offer them
some perspective in arts and music...
MEGAN: I also think
moving to Athens is something you need to consider.
It's a small town with a big football problem. So there's, football's huge here you
have to take that into consideration when making the move here. I love it
and so that's why I love working here. I love the big football scene...
But I think it's something if you're not used to that you need to consider and
prepare yourself for.
DEMARCUS: Consider what
you can bring to the
University of Georgia, because there's a mass of things that they will offer you
provided that you put in
what is needed and what the department asks of you.
It's very much an invaluable opportunity here.
NYERERE: A final thing that
prospective candidates to consider when
thinking about the final choice and where you're going to be employed, because
I know that you got options,
is again the people that are here.
And I think the people make the difference.
You've again are going to be supported
uh... it's like a family here
And I know, again not from what I've heard, but from what I've experienced that
people here will take care of you and they will help you out in any way they can.
I think candidates should consider
how large the institution is... that it is the flagship institution of
the state of Georgia, so we get... we draw certain type of student. They all come
here being leaders in their previous high schools uh... so again it
brings a very high achieving group of students.
KATHRYN: I think candidates need to consider whether they'd like some colleagues that
uh...
can challenge them and also support them and if those are the kinds of things
that you enjoy then
candidates need to be
filling out their applications.
