In the wonderful gallerists' world
everyone is in a great mood and totally awake
when they do such an event. Not me.
Or they jump into a huge pile of coke
just so they are even more brilliant than before.
I didn't do that either.
I'm an art millipede.
Among other things, I'm a gallerist.
I'm a restless spirit, really.
Originally I used to be an advertiser.
Then I left and thought, devil may care.
I'll do nothing. I'll be a Berliner.
ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CANAL
Then things just happened. I met Anna Lüpertz
and we're doing the Nomadic Gallery together.
And then I'm trying to establish
an artist's residency programme now.
I'm putting some online fun
into our lovely social networks now.
I'll put as much caffeine and sugar
into my system as possible
so that I can stroll down to Kater Holzig
in a relaxed manner at six
to plan for the VIP event.
But first we'll doll ourselves up, like you do.
We installed a piece of art
by Robert Montgomery at Holzmarkt
in the last two days.
We can lift the things up again
and turn them a bit or something.
This piece of art will be switched on tonight
and illuminate the evening happily,
pointing to our wonderful Holzmarkt project.
I didn't like routine work in school, either.
Behind this, by the way, is my wonderful
gallery companion Anna J. Lüpertz.
Normally, Mr Montgomery has the time,
inclination and assistants to do this work.
Who work in a meditative way.
We don't.
The Holzmarkt project is huge.
We're building a restaurant,
artists' villages and in-stuff.
So the works has to be there.
The works. It's perfect for this.
I'm being washed but I don't want to be.
I have no money.
We're off to my place now.
I'm going to slip into my butterfly shell.
Then we'll go to the copy shop.
In my butterfly shell, as is right and proper.
Welcome to Weiser's little gallery world.
The artists here are... Markus Lüpertz.
Pretty, huh? I was 17. Oh God, those days.
Keep going, keep going.
This here is by Peter Stauss.
He was one of our first ones,
back in U37 on Kurfürstenstraße.
Now you're filming my terrible bedroom.
I don't know...
I'm dressed in colourful black.
I should not tell people I'm from Swabia. But...
You have to put lots of paint on.
You learn that in theatre.
With no light, you need more paint.
It would be good to know what she sent out.
Yes, the press will be there at nine.
That's the issue.
You invited the VIPs for nine, too? Great.
Yes, but we can take the best pics of the works
between eight and nine.
So we invited people for seven.
Let's limit the damage, I say.
Posters in size A3. They're all landscape.
If you ever do a guest list with ribbons,
all the Berlin people will say,
oh my God, I want a ribbon, too!
What do I get when I have a ribbon?
Groceries would not go amiss, huh?
I saw it right away. Hi. Anna. Her name is.
Here, stickers.
What does it say?
Something, I don't know.
This is the artist.
