Wow.
That's the best question in the world.
How do you work with creativity?
At Vittra Telefonplan we try to work a lot with creativity and abilities,
we try to develop and capture the student's motivation
to make various things,
and to think in new ways.
We try letting the student's creativity guide us,
rather than the other way around.
To be faced with a problem,
and to dare solve it,
or to dare try and solve it.
Electricity runs through water that we have...
I think these types of experiments are amongst the most fun.
To strive to always develop learning,
and find new ways to approach different subjects.
HackerSpaceInABox creates an interest to work with new technology.
It's a bridge from the digital to the analogue world.
It's a way to create a reasonably high threshold,
and gain confidence to solve more complicated problems.
Creating boxes has been done for so many years in crafts.
However a box can be so many things
and one can approach the task from so many angles.
We have, like, connected various things to create musical instruments.
Base, drums, and then some lights. Lights that were turned on.
Me and my group built a piano.
It was fun to do something more challenging than usual.
The box itself is used as material, in the experiments.
It's painted with conductive ink,
which is water based and perfectly safe,
We have a small circuit board, called a MaKey MaKey,
that can fool the computer into thinking it's a keyboard.
Then various things can be connected to the circuit board
in order to make keys out of anything conductive.
For example a banana or our conductive box.
Today we let the students build their own music instruments.
Creativity is a skill for the future.
No one will want a robot.
No employer will not want to hire a robot.
One will have to think for oneself.
Think critically, but also have drive to follow through ideas and changes.
To live in an ever-changing world, simply put.
Obviously we have to start with the curriculum
and the requirements from the Swedish National Agency for Education,
but there are infinite paths to reach the goals.
Schools are very closed organizations where we have to do certain things.
We need to find the motivation therein and deliver, at least partially.
HackerSpaceInABox is exciting as we just might find something here.
And let's cut there :)
