ERNIE: Every night when I lie in bed.
BERT: Oh, no.
ERNIE: I see pictures dancing in my head.
BERT: Picture sleep.
ERNIE: Buddy Bert--
BERT: What?
ERNIE: Buckle up, and we'll fly away.
BERT: Whoa!
Yeah!
ERNIE: We're adventuring, every time
the bed starts tapping.
Something special's going to happen.
BERT: This is kind of kicky.
ERNIE: My favorite kind of traveling.
ALL: Yeah!
We're adventuring.
Come along with Bert and Ernie.
We're going to take a little journey--
"Bert and Ernie's Great Adventures."
[TELEPHONE RINGING]
ERNIE: Bakery, baker Ernie speaking, baker Bert standing
next to me, listening.
BIG BOB: [MUTTERING].
ERNIE: Oh, it's our first customer.
What can we bake for you today, Big Bob?
BIG BOB: [MUTTERING].
ERNIE: Chocolate surprise.
BERT: Ernie, we don't know how to make that.
ERNIE: Um, gee, we don't make chocolate surprise, Big Bob.
But we make bread, and pie, and cake.
BIG BOB: [MUTTERING].
ERNIE: You want 10 loaves of bread, 20 pies, and the
world's tallest chocolate cake?
BERT: What?
ERNIE: And you're on the way to pick them up now?
Sure, Big Bob, whatever you say.
BERT: Ernie, that's a huge order.
We'll never have all that ready in so little time.
Oh, what are we going to do?
What are we going to do?
ERNIE: I guess we could hide behind some pies.
BERT: I've got it, Ernie, a cookbook for big orders.
We'll follow directions and work together.
ERNIE: Let's start baking.
BERT: Ah, to make 10 loaves of bread, take two big buckets of
water, 10 sacks of flour.
And now this is the really important part, Ernie.
Add just a touch of yeast.
[TELEPHONE RINGING]
BERT: Hello?
BIG BOB: [MUTTERING].
BERT: Sure, Big Bob, we'll have it already, no problem.
We've got a problem, Ernie.
Big Bob's only three blocks away.
What do we do?
ERNIE: Don't worry, Bert.
I have an idea.
I'll make the pies and you can frost the giant cake.
It'll go much faster that way.
BERT: OK, Ernie.
But make sure you remember to--
oh yeah, here it is-- set the pie-making speed to slow.
ERNIE: OK, there, slow.
Hmm, we'll never get Big Bob's order ready in
time at this speed.
I better set this machine to fast--
apples, nuts, cream, apples, nuts, cream, apples, nuts,
cream, apples, nuts, cream, apple, nuts, cream, cream,
cream, cream!
[PHONE RINGING]
ERNIE: Hello?
BIG BOB: [MUTTERING].
ERNIE: Big Bob, you're only one block away?
BIG BOB: [MUTTERING].
ERNIE: Yes, things are flying along.
Whoops!
BERT: Uh-oh!
Ernie!
How much yeast did you put in that bread?
ERNIE: Ah, ooh, oh!
BERT: Ernie!
ERNIE: Oh, Bert, I didn't follow directions, and now the
pies are following me.
Whoa!
Look out!
[DOOR BELL RINGING]
BIG BOB: Hello?
I'm here to pick up my order!
BERT: One second, Big Bob!
BIG BOB: Baker Bert and baker Ernie?
ERNIE: Big Bob?
BIG BOB: That's me.
Now where's my order?
ERNIE: Uh, well--
BERT: Um.
ERNIE: You see, I was--
BERT: That's a funny thing.
BURT AND ERNIE: Whoa!
ERNIE: Oh no!
BIG BOB: Ugh, you know what you've made here?
BERT: A big mess?
BIG BOB: Nope.
ERNIE: OK, a huge mess, I admit it.
And it's all my fault.
I guess I didn't do so well at working
together, huh, baker Bert?
BIG BOB: Well, whatever you did, you've
made chocolate surprise.
BURT AND ERNIE: We did?
BIG BOB: Mmhmm.
Mmm.
It's so good I'm going to order a dozen more.
And I want you to make them exactly the same way.
ERNIE: Goodnight, Bert.
BERT: Goodnight, Ernie.
Uh-oh.
