Hi this is Rishabh Jain on behalf of Expert Village. This clip I'm going to tell you how
to price a diamond. It is very difficult for a layman to do it when an expert can do it
very well. There is a method with the help of which you can learn how to price a diamond.
Now, basically what you have to look for is the four C's of the diamond. That is cut,
color, clarity and carat. There is a list that comes every week and we call it Rappaport.
I'll show you this list and in this list the caret is mentioned, the color is mentioned
and the clarity is mentioned and the prices and approximate prices are mentioned that
are basically on the higher side. Like for example, if your looking for something around
one carat, GVS1. If you look at the Rappaport, 1 carat, it's around 1.00 to 1.49 carats and
G is the color and your looking for VS1 purity. So GVS1 rap is 7800. So approximately 7,800
hundred dollar prices is for GVS1. Now you must be wondering what about the cut. I would
prefer you all to go and buy a certified diamond because the certificate of the diamond will
tell you the cut of the diamond. For example, again, this GVS one, I have one sample certificate
for it. You can see the cut rate also here. Here comes the carat of the diamond that is
1.01 carats. Color of the diamond, G. Clarity of the diamond, VS1 and the cut of the diamond
that is excellent. Now this released the cut, color, clarity, carat as it goes up and down
the prices raise. You can all know it with the help of the list. Like I've already written
here, one carat, GVS1 that is $7,800.00. So know you know if the diamond is priced properly
or not. One thing that I would like to tell you is whenever you go to a dealer and you
ask for the certificate of the diamond and the price list. Don't forget to ask him the
discount on that list. Thank you.
