Hello my name is Jose Zuniga and I'm representing expertvillage.com were going to adding some
potted plants around the pool area we want to bring that ambitious of the tropical feeling
around the pool area. What better yet to add some clay pots I was lucky today I got all
sizes I thing I did not notice is I've got one that's not in good shape so we're going
to recycle this soil it's always good to that. Now what I like to do with my soil I like
to mix it up with my top soil so what we're going to do is add a little regular top soil
here which is great. Also a planting mix a planting mix has some of that mulch which
is going to help the root system and maintain it's moisture better but I'm going to go a
step further and add some of my infamous Christmas wreath there we go. By doing that we're going
to be able to help the roots maintain the moisture better so you mix it up completely
well and then you start your planting. Now before we start that I want to show you another
thing as you can see this huge drimian we going to half it so it's going to the other
clay pot which is going to work perfect for that corner, as you can see look at all this
dead leaves that are brown. We got to clean it up completely and it's going to work on
thing that you need to remember is that when you dig up the hole go the size of the plant
plus additional 1" underneath and then another inch around cause your going to allow the
roots just to take off. That's what we want it to do let me show you this particular one
is going to be the home for the Mexican Heather when you start digging check for any old roots
you remove them completely. We don't want that we soak this earlier this is perfect
for it's new home, great don't apply to pressure around it get a little bit of the mix that
we prepared earlier, it's that simple and it's great and this is how we prepare our
potted plants for landscaping the pool area.
