Greetings fellow gamers, Call of Duty Ghosts has a new game mode called Search and Rescue
and it is what Kill confirmed is to Team Deathmatch.
Search and destroy has been a popular game mode in Call of Duty for a long while and
personally I just could never get into it even when I practically knew the maps of Black
Ops 2 inside out I didn't enjoy playing it as it was too full of people who were messing
around and weren't team work based players and was too focused on trolling via their
headsets. I also did not enjoy having to wait to respawn as that got quite annoying and
fast and there were also an absurdly large number of French people on it...yeah
In Call of duty Ghosts Search and Rescue takes everything Search and destroy does and adds
anew layer of strategy by adding tags and all that means is that if you kill someone
you need to pick up the tag to eliminate them out of the round whereas they can also be
saved if a teammate picks up their tag. It's been a controversial change in the Call of
Duty community with playing praising and criticising the mode but personally I like it as from
my experiences with the mode so far it really has cut down on the amount of campers in my
experience. This isn't is slate campers or anything but it got annoying when you died
due to somebody camping in a particular location and you'd have to wait to respawn in the whole
round. Some would say for you to learn the popular camping spots but learning the most
popular spots might not save you from getting sniped long range early on and then having
to sit out for the rest of the round, at least now there's a second chance of one of your
teammates (or potatoes if you're playing solo) of picking up your tag.
Some might say that instead of camping people they are now just going camp tags instead
which is fair enough but the way I see it is if you see a tag in the distance and you
are going to collect it, you're instinctively going to be a lot more alert due to the possibility
of somebody watching it which may not happen if you were playing Search and Destroy. Also
if you see a tag you may know the sightlines for that particular location and that particular
tag means the enemy has given away their position, it's a bit of an advanced thing where you
sort of like have to work this out but that's one of the reasons I like Search and Rescue.
Personally I think the criticism stems from two things; the first being that Search and
Destroy was not available at the start but that migated by the addition of it in the
November 15th patch. The other being that people just don't like change which is sad
really as I feel Search and Rescue fits Ghosts more than Destroy does.
The maps on Black Ops 2 were small meaning that it wouldn't take long for a match to
end (it was still a while due to the campers) but on Ghosts the maps are actually quite
big and open which personally I feel does NOT suit Search and Destroy because it's too
easy to be picked off at a distance but maybe that's how some people like it, I personally
wouldn't want to be running around for an age trying to locate the enemy only to be
picked off as it makes a slow game mode more slower than it has to be (especially as there
are no gun fights in this game.... Only a flash of red and then you're dead).
With Search and Rescue I suppose you're encouraged more to Stick with your squad mates if you
don't want to die and find your tag picked up immediately but people still go their separate
ways anyway and I guess that's the appeal of Search and Destroy and Search and Rescue,
it's a more tactical mode and you can't be too careless with your virtual life or you'll
find that it ends very shortly.
I guess there may never be an agreement to which is the better mode but right now it's
all about enjoying the mode that you prefer and I prefer Search and Rescue and others
might prefer Search and Destroy. I haven't exactly tried out Search and Destroy as of
this recording but I will do very soon and hopefully I'll enjoy it a bit more than I
did on Black Ops 2.
Thank you for watching this video, it is very much appreciated; take care of yourselves
and Silver Assassin out.
