Today, on this 2011 Volkeswagen Jetta, were going to do a test fit of a Thule roof rack
system. We will be using the Thule 23-inch aeroblades and well be using the inaudible
traverse foot pack. Ok, were going to start the test fit with the roof rack system already
assembled according to the instructions so its just a matter of placing it on the roof.
Well start the first cross bar, well measure from the edge of the wind shield to the leading
edge of the foot pack. In this case, its going to be 10 inches, but always refer to the manufacturers
instructions. Alright, now Ill go ahead and place the second cross bar and that will be
30 inches away from the center of the first cross bar.
Now the second cross bar actually has some holes in the roof line that the kit will fit
into. So lets go ahead and take the measurement between the centers just to make sure. Once
we have the bars in their proper placement, were going to make sure that it fits properly
on the roof line securely and theres inaudible. And then we can go ahead and start tightening
them down. When we tighten these down, you want to alternate back and fort to tighten
them down evenly on each side.
