When I first started out in the sports broadcasting industry, it was really tough to find a job
because there just weren’t that many opportunities. Now things are completely different there
are new networks popping up what seems like every week, and there are digital media production
companies that are doing some really cool things online. It’s an exciting time to
work in sports television and that is why I started SportsTVJobs.com.
Our mission is pretty simple, we want to help people start and launch a successful career
in sports broadcasting. On our site you’ll find access to over 3,000 sports jobs, sign
up with your email address put in some criteria and you’ll get updates on job openings to
your inbox. But that’s not all we do, we have how to
videos to teach you how to get a leg up on the competition, we have feature articles
from experienced columnists writing about subjects like being a women in sports journalism
or behind the scenes of being a sports producer. Real insider stuff.
We have interviews with industry experts ranging from sportscasters to audio engineers to cameramen
all from different networks all across the nations sharing what they have learned.
Working in Sports Television is not easy, there are late nights, weekends, holidays
…but trust me when I say this, once you get started in the industry you’re going
to get hooked and can’t imagine doing anything else.
