So what else in these 3 days - what else can people expect, what comes afterwards? Are
there any more ways to use it afterwards, is there more than happiness?
Well, you know, all of the work that I do gives people new ways of thinking. If you change
they way you think it changes the way you feel and therefore changes what you can do.
And once you learn a new way of thinking it's hard not to use it!
So nobody is going to be happy for 3 days and then go home and look at their wife and
be miserable. This should leak into every aspect of their life and they'll continue
to use the mental programs. No different than when I discovered how good spellers spell,
they make great big pictures of the words and once you teach a kid to do that, every
word is seen as a big picture and remembered. It doesn't end the day of the lesson, it works
with every word for the rest of their lives. These are the same kinds of skills and mental
strategies that you can use with yourself, clients, employees. To help the world a little
more determined and cheerful place! So these 3 days will be for leaders, for everyone
actually, young, old, for people with troubles and challenges, even or people that's already
happy? Yeah, you can't have too much happiness I think.
My courses are not designed so that these poople belong and these don't. My courses
teach you how to use your brain better, and once you use your brain better then you have
to decide what to use it for. That's not my job, an architect will use his skills different
than a school teacher or a psycho therapist or a political leader.
The way in which you use this can teach your children to be a bit happier, although they
all have to go through teenage angst, it's a part of growing up. Hopefully you can send
them in a direction so that they don't do such permanent damage. Most of my clients
over the 45 years that I've been doing this, are people that "have been given up on". One
of the things I discovered early on is no matter how warbled things are, if people have
hope then you can install things that will get them down the road.
One of the best things that comes out of this is that people will see things change in front
of their eyes. We're going to take people that have horrible memories that overwhelm
them and then suddenly they won't. Poeple spend way too much time every day worrying,
grieving, remembering unpleasant things, feeling that they can't do things because they haven't
done them. Imagine if babies were like that: "I've never
spoken therefore I'll never be able too, I've never pooped therefore I'll never be able too..."
And yet, somehow that logic is acceptable to adults! Thay have a historical basis and
if you think all of your past determines your future your just being naive! Because people
change all the time, and the question is - is it for the better or the worse? If you take
control of the process you can make it better, and if you have the tools to do it deliberately,
you can think on purpose! Gregory Bateson said about my work that is
was evolutionary, in a sense than now we have a way to think about thinking, and do something
about it. That's really what you get in the 3 days:
A set of tools to allow you to think about your own thinking and thinking it on purpose,
and plan it so it comes out the way you want it to.
Instead of being a rollercoaster with no tracks. (this is part 3 of a 4 part interview)
