New research suggests that yoga is not just a healthy form of exercise, but that it may
also have positive effects for certain cancer patients as well. I'm Kendra Rowland for the
dailyRx News Network.
A recent study found that women who practiced yoga while undergoing radiation for breast
cancer felt physically better and were less tired than women who did not. Additionally,
women who did yoga had lower levels of cortisol, a hormone released in the body in response
to stress. Previous research has linked high levels of cortisol to worse survival rates
in women with breast cancer.
