>> [Singing] If I can't give you the world,
please don't hold that against me.
Nowhere written in the book of love should we ever want
for more than you and me.
All I have is love, smiles for every star above,
heart as deep as any sea.
Baby everyday can be filled with sunshine even rain,
cause rain around us ain't the same.
Everything you're searching of, find it all right here in love.
[ Music ]
>> [Singing] If I gave you all I have, baby would it be enough.
What if all I had was love,
would it make you smile, smile forever more.
[Music]
>> Demetria: I am so excited.
>> Shaun: I know honey me too.
>> Demetria: I had a wonderful evening with you.
>> Shaun: Oh, me too.
You know baby we really should do this more often.
>> Demetria: We should.
>> Shaun: We really should except
for just special occasions.
>> Demetria: I know.
>> Shaun: I'm so happy that you're having my son.
>> Demetria: Uh, excuse me, your daughter.
>> Shaun: I guess, come on baby sit down relax, relax.
Would you like to [Inaudible]
>> Demetria: With this stomach?
>> Shaun: Yea, baby you are still gorgeous.
>> Demetria: Thank you honey.
>> Shaun: Relax.
Now you know, I think we should go ahead and get the sonogram.
So, that way baby we don't have to guess.
>> Demetria: No Shaun, I don't want to know.
Is that okay?
>> Shaun: You know that would make planning
so much easier, alright.
Okay, alright baby I don't want to upset you.
So, if you don't want to know its okay.
>> Demetria: It's not that I don't want to know.
Well, I'm just trying not to be difficult honey, but I just feel
as though if God wanted us to be able
to choose then he would allow us to choose,
but we don't get that choice.
All that I care about is that we will have a healthy child.
That's all that matters.
>> Shaun: You're right, true that;
a healthy baby, 10 toes, 10 fingers.
>> Demetria: [Laughter] That's more like it.
>> Shaun: Two eyes, two ears, just a healthy child.
>> Demetria: That's more like it honey.
See, that's why you're my husband,
because you're so understanding.
>> Shaun: Oh, it's no problem baby.
But you know I want you to know that I meant what I said.
>> Demetria: About what?
>> Shaun: About being there through thick and thin.
I meant all of that, I meant every word.
>> Demetria: Promise?
>> Shaun: I promise.
[Kissing] I'm going to do everything.
>> Demetria: Everything?
>> Shaun: Everything to make sure that my son is happy,
okay [Laughter] our child is happy.
I am. I'm going to do it all.
I'm going to cook.
I'm going to clean.
>> Demetria: Wow, all of that?
>> Shaun: Vacuum, I'm going to do it all to make sure--
>> Demetria: All of that?
>> Shaun: All of that to make sure my wife
and my child are happy.
>> Demetria: Hmm, that's music to my ears Shaun.
>> Shaun: [Laughter]
>> Demetria: But you know what, you're creating
that list I'm sure I can think of a whole lot of other things
to add to that list of honey dos.
>> Shaun: Oh, I know you can.
I know how you roll, alright.
You like things how you like things, but it's all good baby.
>> Demetria: Wait, Shaun what are you saying
that I'm bossy or I'm pushy?
>> Shaun: No, no, no, no, no, no,
no that's not what I'm saying.
What I'm saying is that you like what you like,
that's all I'm saying.
>> Demetria: Okay, I was checking.
>> Shaun: [Laughter] Look, come on,
you know I love everything about you.
I'm glad that I married you, I really am.
I mean baby, you mean so much to me.
You're my best friend.
You're my confidant.
You're my lover.
You're my everything sweetheart.
>> Demetria: Okay.
[Kissing]
>> Shaun: What?
>> Demetria: That's how we got this.
[Laughter] All that stuff you been doing to me.
>> Shaun: Ah, don't you blame me.
>> Demetria: You know honey I believe
that you're going to hold it down.
I know that and I trust that.
You've been doing that already.
But you have to understand that it takes two
to keep this thing going and besides,
I wanted this munchkin as much as you did.
>> Shaun: I know you did.
I know you wanted this baby just like I did.
>> Demetria: But you know honey?
>> Shaun: What?
>> Demetria: Tonight at dinner--
>> Shaun: Um huh.
>> Demetria: Oh wait, wait, wait I got to get up for a minute.
>> Shaun: Your back hurt?
>> Demetria: Yes, my back--
>> Shaun: Okay, stand up, stand up.
>> Demetria: Ooh, you honey tonight
at dinner I wanted a drink so bad I could taste it.
>> Shaun: Oh my goodness!
>> Demetria: No honey for real I needed it.
I finally understand how addicts and crack heads feel.
>> Shaun: Oh, come on.
>> Demetria: I wanted something so bad.
>> Shaun: Baby, you didn't need a drink tonight.
>> Demetria: I did.
>> Shaun: No you didn't.
>> Demetria: Yes.
>> Shaun: No you didn't, because for one baby you're carrying our
child, okay?
And for two, Demetria you know how you get
when you drink, alright.
>> Demetria: What?
>> Shaun: And honestly baby, you really need to let all
that go even when the baby gets here.
>> Demetria: Wait a minute, what do you mean how I get?
>> Shaun: You know exactly how you get Demetria.
>> Demetria: Now I don't.
>> Shaun: Yes, you do.
You know what, forget that alright.
We're having a wonderful evening okay.
So, let's not mess it up and argue alright.
Let's just celebrate our evening
and let's just celebrate our new son.
>> Demetria: That is the third time you called--
>> Shaun: Alright our child, sorry, okay.
>> Demetria: You know you're right.
Besides, we trust God and I know
that God has this whole thing worked out.
>> Shaun: Absolutely.
>> Demetria: It's going to be good, right?
>> Shaun: It's going to be perfect, alright.
Now I want you to know I was looking
at you while we were at the restaurant.
>> Demetria: Were you now?
>> Shaun: Yea, I sure was.
>> Demetria: Did you like what you see?
>> Shaun: Oh, I loved what I saw and I was thinking
that you know its still early you know.
>> Demetria: Okay, so what are you thinking?
>> Shaun: Well, I was thinking that we could celebrate
in our own little private way.
>> Demetria: Ooh whoo whoo, that sounds good baby.
But you're nasty.
>> Shaun: What?
>> Demetria: Yea, you heard me.
But- wait, wait.
>> Shaun: What?
>> Demetria: Let me shower first and I'll be ready for you okay.
>> Shaun: Oh.
>> Demetria: Just give me a minute.
Let me--
>> Shaun: That's what you think.
I never told you that I wasn't nasty baby come on now.
Look at you trying to waddle to the bedroom.
[Music]
>> Demetria: Oh, here I come.
Who is it?
>> Girl, hurry up and open this door.
>> Demetria: Who is it?
>> Demetria.
>> Demetria: Who is it?
Girl what's wrong with you girl?
[Crying] What is it?
What happened?
Who?
>> Chloe: Girl the [Inaudible] trying to get me.
>> Demetria: Coming in here with all that foolishness.
[Laughter] You know with me being seven months pregnant I
can't take all these types of surprises girl.
>> Chloe: A little fun ain't going to hurt you or that baby.
>> Demetria: Yea, please.
>> Chloe: I should know.
I do have five healthy kids.
>> Demetria: That is true.
>> Chloe: Now they may not all be by the same man,
but at least I got five healthy checks coming in, hey, hey.
>> Demetria: Girl, you better slow
down before you catch something.
>> Chloe: Yea, like that mailman
where he be dropping off all them checks, girl.
Don't worry about me catching nothing girl.
You just stay over here and be all happy with your husband
and your baby while I'm unhappy with my five baby's daddies.
>> Demetria: Girl that's what you chose.
>> Chloe: Girl what you got in there anyway?
What's this?
>> Demetria: A baby.
>> Chloe: Yea, I know that Demetria.
What is that, like a girl or a boy, what you got?
>> Demetria: Girl, I don't know.
We're not going to find out until the baby gets here.
>> Chloe: Why?
>> Demetria: Because I feel like I'm just going to wait
until God shows me what it is.
You know it's like a Christmas present.
You open it up and then you see what you get.
>> Chloe: Why do you keep grabbing your stomach like that?
>> Demetria: Well I've been having some sharp pains on
and off for the last couple of days.
Is that normal?
Cause I know you would know with you're five kids.
>> Chloe: Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha Demetria.
>> Demetria: Oh goodness.
>> Chloe: Don't be trying to have that big headed baby
up in here cause I'm here.
I wouldn't know nothing about that and don't get it twisted.
Just because I have five kids does not mean I know nothing
about birthing no babies.
I can't help you with that one.
>> Demetria: Girl, you are silly, whatever.
>> Chloe: So, why you don't want to know.
Come on, we all want to know.
Why you don't want to know what you're having?
>> Demetria: Because I feel like if God wanted me
to know he would let me know.
And he would let me choose and just for the record,
I do go in for my checkups.
>> Chloe: So, like when you're in there with your checkups
and things you doctor be trying to tell you what the baby is?
>> Demetria: Girl, yes all the time
and I tell him the exact same thing
that I'm telling you and I've told Shaun.
I just want to be surprised.
Is that okay with you and everybody else?
>> Chloe: Honestly I don't care what you do.
I just want to know what the big secret is,
cause girl I miss my clubbing buddy.
Girl, I can't wait to till you pop that baby
out cause we gonna get back to the club, whoa.
>> Demetria: Whoa, whoa, whoa, uh uh Chloe.
>> Chloe: I've missed that.
>> Demetria: I cannot go there with you.
And as a matter of fact, since you brought it up,
I think its time that you should know that my hanging out
and my drinking days are over.
I'm done. I mean I have a baby now
and I can't be acting like that.
>> Chloe: Yea, right.
>> Demetria: So, you're going to have
to find you a new drinking partner.
>> Chloe: That's cute girl.
That's so cute.
>> Demetria: I mean I have a family you know.
I have a baby on the way and the last thing that can come
in between me properly taking care of them is you,
my drinking, my hanging out, none of that.
I'm done.
>> Chloe: Girl, you starting to act like some Christians.
You know them new Christians.
>> Demetria: What is that supposed to mean?
>> Chloe: You know, when them people when they first found
out who God is and they be sitting there trying
to be all spiritual.
And they be like, oh I should [Inaudible]
>> Demetria: Girl, you are too dramatic for me.
>> Chloe: And they just be oh holy and God!
>> Demetria: Just calm down.
That's what I'm talking right there, this negativity.
I can't have this stuff around my child.
But you know what I'm sorry.
I'm being a little rude.
Would you like something to drink?
>> Chloe: Girl yea, cause I didn't say I was going
to quit drinking.
I tell you something, you go ahead and give me some
of that Geese on the rocks
and make it strong, like I like my men.
>> Demetria: You mean some Gray Geese?
>> Chloe: Girl you know Gray Geese, Geese,
just make sure it's on the rocks
and make sure it is good and strong.
>> Demetria: Okay.
[ Music ]
>> Chloe: Wait, yea I called you.
But I'm trying to understand, all I need--
all I need is that my son needs some school supplies.
What do you mean?
I know you don't get you all check but once a month.
But why the hell you always saying you ain't got no money?
[Laughter] So do I be saying that when it's time for me
to feed your kids and bathe your kids and take them to the mall
and get them haircuts and stuff?
You know what, you right, you right, you right.
I tell you what.
What don't you just come on over here so I can kick your--
>> Demetria: Chloe!
>> Chloe: You ask for it, bye.
>> Demetria: Chloe calm down.
What is wrong with you?
>> Chloe: Girl, I know-- ooh thank you.
I needed that, umm, umm.
[ Laughter ]
What is that?
>> Demetria: That's water on the rocks without the rock.
[Laughter]
>> Chloe: You always trying to be funny Demetria.
That's not even funny.
>> Demetria: Yes, it is girl.
[Laughter]
>> Chloe: You always made me choke.
>> Demetria: What?
>> Chloe: Can I ask you a question?
>> Demetria: Sure.
>> Chloe: So, like do you think
that Shaun is as happy as you are?
>> Demetria: Absolutely.
In fact, I believe he's happier.
>> Chloe: Really.
>> Demetria: Yes, because Shaun is a great man.
He's a hard worker, a wonderful provider
and an even better lover.
>> Chloe: Girl, ain't nobody want to hear about all that.
But I do tell you what, he's a great provider
and he's a better lover and all this stuff,
after you have that baby--
>> Demetria: What?
>> Chloe: He gonna change.
>> Demetria: Oh no.
>> Chloe: Oh yes, he gonna change.
>> Demetria: You're wrong.
You're wrong.
That's where you're wrong, not my Shaun.
>> Chloe: Oh, you just wait and see.
I promise you that.
>> Demetria: No, I disagree.
See, you're used to those five baby daddies
and all them other kind of people
who are not doing anything for you.
My man, my Shaun, he's out there working a double shift right now
to make sure that we're going to be good whenever I go
out on maternity leave.
>> Chloe: Oh, Demetria.
Girl, Shaun is out there working.
He's working on his second drink before he come home
and have to deal with you.
>> Demetria: You know what, get out of my house girl.
>> Chloe: That's all you're going to do me?
You're going to put me out like that?
>> Demetria: Yup, get out.
>> Chloe: That's not even how you treat a good friend.
Oh, come on.
When you gonna have that baby so we can go back to the club?
I miss my drinking buddy.
>> Demetria: Look, I done told you.
I have changed.
I'm really trying to be a different person now,
can you just respect that?
>> Chloe: Demetria you are going
to always be the same person that you were.
>> Demetria: Whatever.
>> Chloe: When I met you a long time ago and the same person
that you're not trying to be now.
You always going to be her.
>> Demetria: Chloe, no I'm not.
Look I need you out of my house.
Look get up.
I'm putting you out just like I put the trash
out on Mondays and Thursdays.
Because if I don't rats and roaches will be all up in here.
Because you know trouble, all kinds of trouble tends
to follow you wherever you go.
>> Chloe: Girl.
>> Demetria: Get your shoes.
Get your purse.
>> Chloe: It must be them little hormones that you got,
them little things swimming in there.
>> Demetria: Whatever.
Get the heck out of my house.
Get your glass up.
>> Chloe: ***, I don't know why I'm her friend anyway.
All my life, I ain't never been put out of nobody's house.
>> Demetria: Well Chloe, today that changes.
Bye.
>> Chloe: I'll see you later girl.
>> Demetria: Okay.
>> Chloe: [Kissing] Bye.
>> Demetria: [Music] Shaun, Shaun.
Ooh Shaun baby, Shaun.
>> Shaun: Demetria, baby what's wrong?
What's wrong?
>> Demetria: It's the baby.
>> Shaun: No, no it can't be.
It's too soon.
>> Demetria: Ah, Shaun.
>> Shaun: What?
>> Demetria: Here's a contraction.
Shaun, get me to the hospital.
>> Shaun: It's only seven months, baby.
>> Demetria: Shaun!
>> Shaun: Okay, we're going.
>> Demetria: Shaun baby.
>> Shaun: Okay.
>> Demetria: Baby, where are you going?
>> Shaun: We got to get--
>> Demetria: Shaun, me!
>> Shaun: Oh, okay, sorry.
Okay come on--
>> Demetria: Shaun!
[ Music ]
>> Nurse Otto: Mr. Johnson?
>> Shaun: Yes.
>> Nurse Otto: We'll come and get you
after we prep your wife, okay.
>> Shaun: Prep, what do you mean by being prepped.
I don't understand.
My wife's not due yet so what do you mean?
>> Nurse Otto: Look, first of all hi.
I'm Nurse Otto.
>> Shaun: Hi, how you doing?
>> Nurse Otto: Is this your first child?
>> Shaun: Yea, this is my first child.
We just want a real thing, that's all.
>> Nurse Otto: Well, you know what it's so good
to see a young man stand up and want to have a family.
>> Shaun: Thank you.
I appreciate that.
That's just my wife and my child, that's all good.
But my wife's not due yet.
So, what's going on?
>> Nurse Otto: Well, you know the general rule is nine months
plus or minus, right?
>> Shaun: Right.
>> Nurse Otto: Well, the fact of the matter is
when that baby is ready that baby is going to come
on its own terms, okay.
>> Shaun: Okay.
>> Nurse Otto: So, what we do is we do what we can to welcome
that bundle, every bundle that God sends.
>> Shaun: Okay.
>> Nurse Otto: Okay.
>> Shaun: Wait, you say she's having the baby right now?
>> Nurse Otto: No, Mr. Johnson, just calm down, okay.
>> Shaun: Okay.
>> Nurse Otto: Yes, your wife is in labor right now, okay?
But the doctors are doing everything they can to make sure
that your little joy okay, gets a full
and healthy life, alright?
>> Shaun: Okay.
>> Nurse Otto: So, we're going to come and get you, okay?
>> Shaun: Okay.
>> Nurse Otto: You okay?
>> Shaun: Yea.
>> Nurse Otto: Alright.
>> Shaun: Thank you.

>> Doctor: Mr. Johnson.
>> Shaun: Yea.
[ Machines beeping ]
[ Door opening ]
>> Shaun: Is everything okay?
>> Doctor: Well, as I said,
everything went really well in the delivery room.
You have a beautiful baby girl.
>> Shaun: Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord.
So, can I see my daughter and my wife?
>> Doctor: Well, before you meet your daughter there are some
things I need to discuss with you first.
>> Shaun: Well, what is it doctor?
You said that everything was okay, what's wrong?
>> Doctor: Well, your wife is extremely exhausted
and she needs a little bit of time to rest first.
And while she's resting, I think you
and I should discuss some things.
>> Shaun: Well, what is it doctor?
What's going on?
>> Doctor: Your wife had some complications throughout her
pregnancy and unfortunately your daughter was born prematurely.
>> Shaun: Born prematurely, what's--
>> Doctor: Prematurely means that she was born before term.
>> Shaun: Is my daughter going to be alright.
That's all I want to know?
Is she going to be okay?
>> Doctor: Well, we can't say right now.
Premature babies do have some difficulties that they face,
various disabilities because their organs have not had a
chance to fully develop yet
and you know there could be some things that come
about a little bit later.
>> Shaun: Well, is there any tests that you could run
or anything like that?
>> Doctor: There are, but until those test results come back we
will need to just watch for the visible signs of abnormalities.
>> Shaun: Okay, well just run any tests
that you can alright, please.
>> Doctor: We will, we will, but in the meantime we need you
to be prepared for any challenges that may come about.
>> Shaun: Be honest with me alright doctor?
>> Doctor: I'll be honest with you.
There is something I should probably share with you.
If your daughter makes it the next 72 hours, then she'll live.
But I just have to be honest she may not make it past age 12.
I need you to be prepared for that.
>> Shaun: Okay, I don't understand.
But, thank you.
I mean I just don't get it.
My wife and I were both healthy so I just don't get it.
>> Doctor: There is no fault.
There is no blame.
These things they just happen, they happen.
>> Shaun: But something must have went wrong.
Something had to go wrong.
>> Doctor: Nothing went wrong.
You and your wife were both healthy.
Mr. Johnson, did you hear what I said.
You and your wife did nothing wrong.
These things happen.
They happen to good people.
They happen to bad people.
They happen to healthy people.
They happen to people who don't even take care of themselves.
There is no blame or fault, these things happen.
You have to enjoy the time you have with your child.
>> Shaun: But what about Demetria?
Does she know and how is she--
>> Doctor: Hold on Mr. Johnson.
She does not know yet.
She does not know.
>> Shaun: What do you mean she doesn't know?
That's going to destroy her.
I have a daughter that might not live or--
>> Doctor: Mr. Johnson, Mr. Johnson--
>> Shaun: Live past the age of 12.
>> Doctor: Mr. Johnson, Mr. Johnson, your wife is exhausted.
Your wife is exhausted.
>> Shaun: Okay.
[Crying]
>> Doctor: I'll give you some time.
>> Shaun: You know what?
>> Doctor: You need some time to yourself.
>> Shaun: I need to dispose of this right now man.

>> Shaun: Hey, I've already laid Carrington down.
She's already started to go to sleep.
So, I just want you to rest.
I'm going to go check on her and make sure everything's alright.
I forgot the bag in the car, so I just came back.
But baby, get some rest okay, I'll be right back.
[ Moving around ]
>> Shaun: [Knock at door] Who is it?
>> It's mamma.
>> Shaun: Hey.
>> Sybil: Hey baby.
>> Shaun: Mamma how doing?
>> Sybil: I'm fine.
>> Shaun: I'm so glad to see you.
>> Sybil: Okay.
>> Shaun: Let's go in the dining room
and talk for a second, okay?
>> Sybil: Okay.
>> Shaun: Did you want anything to drink or anything?
>> Sybil: No, I'm good.
You have a seat Shaun.
So, you know when you married my daughter, you became my son.
Did you know that?
The baby is going to be okay.
You just got to stay prayed up and stronger
than over, you hear me?
>> Shaun: Yea.
It's just pretty hard right now.
>> Sybil: Shaun, I know it is right now,
but your wife needs you right now.
I mean she's going through something
that no man could ever understand.
When you carry a baby you expect the best, not the worst.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that this is bad,
but what I am saying is that in this situation it takes a
special woman, one that's going to believe that God is--
baby the baby is crying.
Do I need to go get her?
>> Shaun: No, no.
I'll go check on Carrington but mamma please just talk
to Dee for me alright.
She really needs you.
>> Sybil: I'll go talk to her.
You go take care of the baby, okay?
Stay strong.
>> Shaun: Yes ma'am.
>> Sybil: Hurry up go take care of her.
I don't like her crying like that.
It makes me think you're doing something to her.
>> Shaun: Yes ma'am.
>> Sybil: Hey baby.
How are you?
Look Demetria you cannot continue
to beat yourself up like this.
That little girl, my grandchild needs you.
Yes, Carrington needs you.
There may be a couple of challenges
that you all are going to have to work
through but she's a blessing.
God has blessed you with a beautiful baby.
>> Demetria: God?
>> Sybil: God has given you the ability
to conceive and give birth, baby.
You know I mean if you go out there there's people
that can't have children, but God blessed you
with a beautiful daughter.
>> Demetria: No.
>> Sybil: It's like God wrapped in flesh.
>> Demetria: Oh.
>> Sybil: Demetria Lashan I know that you are not blaming God
for your child's condition.
Now that baby is alive and breathing,
that's all that you can ask for.
You are blessed.
Look, I gotta go but before I go I'm going
to pray with you, okay baby?
[Background Music] Heavenly Father,
I just come to you asking that you will keep my child Lord.
Help her heart.
Help her to know that you are God and you are yet in control,
even in this situation Lord.
I ask that you will bless my son, Lord.
Bless my young granddaughter.
Father I know that you have a special plan for this child
and for this family and all know that all things work together
for the good of those that love the Lord
and who are called by your purpose.
In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.
I gotta go but you know mamma is here when you need her.
Shaun, come let me out baby.
>> Shaun: Alright, here I come.
Hey.
>> Sybil: Hey.
>> Shaun: I just fed your grandbaby.
She finally went to sleep.
>> Sybil: Okay, well we need to talk.
Come here.
I'm going to really need you to be the man of the house.
She's going through a lot right now with her hormones
and to be quite honest with you Shaun, she's angry.
You're going to have to be strong baby.
>> Shaun: Yes ma'am.
>> Sybil: I gotta go.
Kiss my baby and be strong.
I'm praying for y'all.
[ Music ]
>> Shaun: Dee, come on baby everything's going
to be alright.
Just take your pills okay, here.
[Pouring water] Take your pills.
Everything's gonna be alright.
If you need anything I'll be checking on Carrington.
Baby, take your pills alright.
[Music]
>> Demetria: God, huh?
You mean nothing to me.
Hell you're going to give me a husband
who can't even produce a healthy child.
It's dead.
I get this child that ain't even normal.
You promised me that you would give me a child
that could one day go outside and play on the swings
and go off to college and get married
and make me a grandmother.
[ Music ]
How in the hell could you do this to me?
[Crying] My child's supposed to be normal.
I did everything right.
I went to church.
I cleaned.
I cooked. I did everything.
[Crying] But I knew by your eyes I didn't.
That is not my child in there.
My child died on that table and I refuse to take care of it.
You're the Almighty God, you do it.
You created her.
You fashioned and formed her in my womb.
[ Crying ]
[ Music ]
How the hell are you going to give Chloe five healthy kids
by five different men and she ain't married to none of 'em?
You know what God you mean nothing to me.
I hate you.
I hate this marriage.
I hate Shaun.
[ Music ]
And I even hate that damn child in there.
You know what, I don't want this anymore.
I don't want any of it.
How am I going to love a child who can't love me back?
God I hate you.
I thought all things worked together for the good,
but I guess not for Demetria.
Shaun, Shaun, Shaun, Shaun.
>> Shaun: Demetria, Demetria, Demetria, oh baby.
Baby wake up.
Baby wake up.
Oh baby stay with me.
Stay with me please.
Stay with me oh Demetria, Demetria I'm here.
Please baby, please stay with me.
Oh stay with me, just stay with me.
Oh, baby, please.
[ Music ]
>> Ike: What's going on man?
Hey what you looking at me like that for man?
I'm sorry for greeting.
Golly.
>> Shaun: I'm sorry man.
There's no need to apologize.
It's just I've been dealing with this hell for the past 11 years
with my wife and my baby and all.
>> Ike: Dang gosh your baby live bro.
>> Shaun: Oh, I'm not complaining
about Carrington living, I'm not.
I love my child man and my child loves me.
She smiles every time she sees me man.
>> Ike: I see the glow in your eyes now.
So what about that--
>> Shaun: See, now that's the hell
that I've been dealing with.
>> Ike: What is her name anyhow?
>> Shaun: Demetria is her name, alright.
>> Ike: Yea, your wife.
>> Shaun: Hey you know what she can't even look at her own child
without resentment written all over her face.
>> Ike: Now see the sad thing is kids are very smart
and they catch on to stuff like that,
especially when they feel resentment.
I don't know man.
>> Shaun: Yea, my baby, my baby is special.
Look Carrington is not stupid.
>> Ike: Yea, you're right.
>> Shaun: She knows her mother doesn't love her
and she knows it to the fact man that she avoids her own mother.
>> Ike: Now, see that's crazy though.
>> Shaun: I know, but she loves her daddy.
>> Ike: She love her daddy?
>> Shaun: Aw, she loves her daddy and I love her too.
Man, I love my little girl.
>> Ike: You know what man, you gotta like that dog.
I don't know what I would do if I was in your situation man.
I'm just saying.
>> Shaun: Come on, you'd be doing the exact same thing
that I would do.
You would be there for your little girl
and you would take care of her just like I would.
>> Ike: You see the thing is I'm not talking
about the little girl.
I'm not talking about a child.
I'm talking about that ignorant wife of yours man.
>> Shaun: Come on, that's my wife, alright.
>> Ike: She crazy.
>> Shaun: Alright, she may get a little eccentric at times,
but that's my wife, alright.
>> Ike: Alright.
>> Shaun: Look man, she's a good woman on her own okay.
She just kind of got pushed over the edge with all this stuff.
>> Ike: Pushed over the edge, the girl fell off the cliff.
She just fell in the Grand Canyon.
I mean the girl is ignorant man.
>> Shaun: Come on man.
>> Ike: You right, I'm sorry.
I'm disrespecting you right.
>> Shaun: Come on man.
It's just we wanted a normal family,
a normal everyday family like everybody else.
You know, but Carrington is special she is.
She can't learn like other kids, I mean she has a lot
of medical issues, but this is my life and I've accepted that
and committed to my family.
>> Ike: Hmm, even if your wife ain't.
>> Shaun: Come on Ike, what am I supposed to do man?
Huh, am I supposed to just pack up and leave?
>> Ike: Might as well doc, I mean--
>> Shaun: You got all the answers.
>> Ike: I'm just saying.
>> Shaun: Is that what it is.
>> Ike: I'm just saying she ain't here for you anyway;
you might as well leave.
>> Shaun: But somebody has to be here for Carrington.
>> Ike: Take her with you.
>> Shaun: I can't do that man.
I can't just leave my wife man.
I can't and I'm not going to.
>> Ike: You know what how about this man, you better.
You better than me you know.
You know you got a lot of stuff going on
and I know it's hard taking care of this stuff around our house.
You know you're like the Mr. Mom of the house,
you know what I'm saying?
I'm help you fold the clothes.
Have you ever thought about you know getting some help for the--
for special kids or anything like that?
>> Shaun: Man, I would never!
I would never, ever put my child in somebody else's care.
>> Ike: You walking up on the wrong man.
>> Shaun: Man, that's my baby.
That's my child!
>> Ike: You right, you right, you right, you right,
you right, you right man.
>> Shaun: Look man all me
and Demetria wanted was just a normal everyday family alright.
Just us and a healthy baby and a wife that I could love
and that loves me back.
Man every day I try to keep it together for my family, man.
But it's not easy.
Man I work I like dog.
I work like a dog trying to keep this family and then
to come home to a wife to act like I did something wrong.
It's not fair man.
It's not, alright.
[Crying] Demetria can't even love the child that we produced.
I would never abandon my baby ever, alright.
That's my baby, man.
That's my baby.
[Crying] That's my baby and she treats her like a dog.
[ Crying ]
>> Come on Ike.
[Crying]
>> Ike: Come on man stop, I'm just playing.
I'm just trying to lighten
up the moment man, lighten up the mood.
You know what I wasn't talking about any-- just send her off.
I mean not like adoption or anything like that,
you know just some help man.
I mean it was just a thought man.
>> Shaun: I'm sorry man.
>> Ike: I'm just trying to help you man.
>> Shaun: I'm sorry.
It's just been a lot, alright.
It's just I don't know what would happen to my little girl
if I left her with her mother.
So, I stay.
I deal with this hell but not from my child,
because she's an angel.
She's from heaven, but for my mother.
>> Ike: But do you-- do you even love her?
>> Shaun: Of course I love her man.
She's my wife, for better or for worse, right.
>> Ike: I think the worst has passed now,
well actually I think the worst is here as well,
you know what I'm saying?
>> Shaun: Come on Ike.
>> Ike: I'm just saying you know what though?
We boys and things, we go back way back you know from hopscotch
to diapers-- you know I mean back over there off
of Dixon Circle, you know what I'm saying?
>> Shaun: Dixon Circle, yea.
>> Ike: You've been a man to me man and I commend you for it.
That's a lot.
>> Shaun: Hey, I appreciate that.
Hey you a much better man than you think you are man.
I lot of my so called friends--
>> Ike: Um huh.
>> Shaun: They haven't come
by since Carrington been in our lives, man.
So I appreciate you.
>> Ike: That's because they ain't your friends you know.
I'm like your brother.
We aint' going to worry about them.
I got your back.
I got your back.
You know what I'm saying?
We like peanut butter and-- yea well I got your back doc.
>> Shaun: [Laughter] I appreciate it man.
You know if you need anything man you're more than welcome
to come by and holler at me man.
>> Ike: I'm going to get on out of here man.
I'm going to get on out of here and you know
if you need me though, if you want to talk,
cause I know you're going through some stuff.
I seen it all over your face you're about to tear up
and stuff, you know what I'm saying, I got you man.
>> Shaun: Alright, vice versa man.
You always welcome to come by and talk to me like I said.
>> Ike: Thank you, for real?
>> Shaun: Absolutely.
>> Ike: I can talk to you about anything, man?
>> Shaun: Anything man.
>> Ike: Well, you know what there is one thing real quick.
I been looking at this picture.
Man I'm in love.
>> Shaun: Ah, is that Chloe?
>> Ike: Yea dog, but see the thing is that's my baby's mamma.
And I can deal with all the other four baby daddies,
I can deal with that.
But you know I want her to know how much I love her.
When I see her with men it just hurt my feelings.
And I be--
>> Shaun: So, what do you want me to do?
>> Ike: I want you to talk to her and tell her how much I'm
in love with her, that's what I want you to do.
>> Shaun: Alright, how about I do this.
How about I get Demetria.
Demetria, they're best friends.
>> Ike: No, no, no, no, no.
>> Shaun: I can--
>> Ike: No, no bro.
It's like it's different when a brother go
over there and talk to a man.
You know what I'm saying.
>> Shaun: I don't really know what to say.
You know what never mind.
I got you.
I'll put in a good word for you okay.
I'll talk to her and I'll tell her something.
>> Ike: Actually I got something in the car I want you to give
to her you know, I'm spicing it up.
>> Shaun: Oh, what'd did you get for her?
>> Ike: I got flowers doc.
>> Shaun: Yea, what else you got?
>> Ike: I got sunflowers man.
>> Shaun: Aw, those are nice, these.

You know what, how about you put her up for adoption?
Better yet how about you take that little thing and put her
out on somebody else's doorstep because she's not my problem.
[Laughter]
>> Shaun: No, you're doing good.
>> Carrington: [Whining sound]
>> Demetria: Playing a little 911 game?

[ Music ]
>> [Singing] I used to be the type
of man that'd mistreat em and leave em.
I'd use them and I'd throw em to the side.
Told a bunch of lies, my black book was my life.
I'm oh so tired of that.
I used to go down my list, one, two, three, four, five.
But my list got too big, had to put it to the side.
So, if you are the one please give me your heart
and give me your love.
I just want love to be first foremost.
I need all that, baby please understand,
because I just can't trust myself around you.
I just can't trust myself being in this place.
>> Ooh dude, are you standing up there crying?
>> Ike: Man she's been tripping doc man.
>> Oh man come on--
>> Ike: She's just going to sit there talking to them guys
and then she's going to look at me and start man--
>> Aw, that's terrible.
I really feel bad for you, but I can't help you man.
That's terrible.
>> Chloe: [Inaudible] I was just trying to say hi
to a good looking man.
You might want to be careful
because I might take your man if I want him.
Bye.
>> Demetria: Girl, calm down.
You don't want all that mess.
>> Chloe: Yea, I'm a ***.
>> Demetria: That you are.
>> Chloe: I know that's what you thinking

because if I wanted your man I'd take him too.
>> Demetria: Girl please, can you calm down?
You going to get us put out this club just like you got us put
out of the last two clubs.
>> Chloe: Who cares?
There's more than two clubs in this city.
If we get put out we'll just to the next and then the next
and then the next and then the next.
>> Demetria: Look, Chloe, Chloe.
I am not trying to bar hop.
>> You're crying so hard your vein pumping out your neck.
>> Ike: Can you holler at her or something?
>> You want me to holler that?
I got you.
You know what--
>> Ike: Just let her know that maybe I want
to marry her or something?
>> No, actually I ain't even gonna let you know what I'm
gonna tell her.
>> Ike: You ain't?
>> No, I got this.
I got this.
I'm your boy.
>> Ike: [Inaudible]
>> I'm your boy.
You know what man but you can't be standing up here
in the corner crying man.
>> Ike: Because I love you man.
>> Go in the middle and cry, don't be in the corner.
>> Ike: I love you dog.
>> God.
[ Crying ]
>> Demetria: All I want to do is have two, three, four, five,
six, twenty drinks tonight and have some fun.
Can I do that, please?
>> Chloe: Yes, we can stay here.
I mean, ooh girl it's supposed
to be some big name somebody up in here tonight.
>> Demetria: I don't care about that.
>> Chloe: Wow.
I guess we could make this our spot for the night.
Who knows I might find my next baby's daddy.
Whoo!
>> Demetria: Please, you already got five kids
with five different men.
>> Chloe: I know.
>> Demetria: Besides, I'm a dignified lady.
I have a husband and a little special needs child I got
up there.
>> Chloe: That is the best way to deal
with your little situation.
>> Demetria: No the best way to deal
with my situation is for you to take him.
Do you want him?
>> Chloe: No ma'am that is your kid.
Come on, let's go and have some fun.
>> Demetria: Oh.
[ Music ]
>> Dave Come here.

Michael Jackson's dead.
You know Conrad Murray done killed Michael Jackson.
You know, but you know who else should have went to jail?
Latoya Jackson, you know she was claiming
to be psychic for a while so.
She should have told somebody, somebody--
he was going to kill her damn brother.
She should done two to five years or at least go to jail
and fix his curl for him.
He's gonna need somebody with S-Curl while he's in jail.
I ain't lying.
Y'all ready for some [Inaudible] say yea.

>> Dave Hollister: How y'all doing tonight?
This song right here goes
out to a special woman in the house tonight.
Can a rose petal live without water drops?
Can my heart live without you?
Surely not.
The rainbow is watching me everyday Now I can't go on.
I'm devastated, 'cause you're not here.
Girl, I know you're not in the mood for apologies
of what I've done to you.
But I realize that I was wrong and I want to change just me.
You and me, ooh, can't you see?
You're my destiny.
Now I had to face it the pain you feel from the man
that says he loves you.
In spite of all of my tears I fear
that you'll never forgive me.
Ooh, I need a sign that you'll remember the bond
that holds us baby.
Cause true love is never artificial, it's always pure.
Girl, I know you're not in the mood for apologies,
but it's killing me for me to think of what I've done to you.
But I realize that I was wrong and I want to change just me.
You and me, ooh, can't you see?
You're my destiny.
Oh girl, yes.
Oh is alright if I let the music play just a little bit tonight,
oh.
Ohh, for my baby whose in the house tonight.
Don't ever leave me, I need you right by my side.
Oh, girl I know you're not in the mood for apologies,
but it's killing me to think of what I've done to you
and I realize that I was wrong and I want to change just me.
Girl I know that I mistreated you, yea.
Girl I know that I mistreated you.
I know that I can't live without you.
I realized yea that I was wrong
and baby I don't want to change just me.
We're destiny.
You're my destiny baby, yes you are.
We're destiny.
Yes you are you're my destiny, oh.
[ Applause ]

[Laughter]
[ Music ]
>> Demetria: Chloe: Don't touch me I got it.
Let me go.
>> Chloe: What's that on your face?
Girl did you know you're showing.
>> Demetria: Don't grab me.
Like what that child I got up in there, huh?
Ain't much I can regret that I ain't already regretted.
>> Chloe: I'm going to go get you some water
because you are clearly starting to dehydrate.
>> Demetria: I don't need you or nobody else getting me anything.
But while you're little fast tail back there why don't you
check to see if they at my house?
>> Chloe: Who you talking about?
>> Demetria: I'm talking about that man that came producing
that special needs child?
[Laughter] I don't want that.
>> Chloe: You know what?
>> Demetria: What?
>> Hey!
>> Chloe: It's time for me to go because you need to sober up.
>> Demetria: Oh okay hold on, why you leaving.
In fact, you run around here with all these kids
and all these baby daddies, that child back there probably yours
because she damn sure ain't mine.
>> Chloe: What are you saying?
>> Demetria: You heard me.
>> Chloe: Look you have a good one and I can't seem
to understand why in the world you getting all angry.
Why you stay so angry and frustrated all the time?
>> Demetria: Where you going now huh?
I got a beef with you heffer.
>> Chloe: What beef you got with me Demetria?
>> Demetria: Well, let's see you running
around here doing whatever the hell you want to do.
This so called man you call God,
he can't treat real people like me right.
>> Chloe: Are you saying that I'm the reason
that you had complications?
>> Demetria: Maybe.
>> Chloe: Have you ever thought that maybe God has a plan
for Carrington, that's why you had her?
>> Demetria: Who?
>> Chloe: Your daughter.
>> Demetria: Oh, that is her name.
[Laughter] I forgot.
>> Chloe: That's not right.
>> Demetria: No, Chloe what ain't right is you.
How is that you have five healthy kids?
And how is it that a woman like you had kids at all?
I'm walking around here doing everything right.
You sleeping around with all these men
and everybody else's man.
I've given my time, my offering.
I go to church.
And all you want to do is get over on the system.
And as a matter of fact, the only reason I hang with you is
because you pay for everything.
>> Chloe: So, what are you saying Demetria?
>> Demetria: You heard me.
>> Chloe: You saying I'm not good enough to have children.
I'm not supposed to have children?
>> Demetria: No.
Have you ever thought-- I don't know.
Maybe God has a plan for--
maybe God knew what he was doing, just maybe.
>> Chloe: Um, like what?
>> Demetria: You don't deserve kids.
>> Chloe: Well you can have em.
>> Demetria: You don't deserve them in your life.
You don't deserve them around your life.
You don't deserve them to come out of you.
None of that.
>> Chloe: You know what, I'm going to go ahead and leave.
Because if I stay here any longer I'm going
to end up whooping your ***.
You're not even worth it.
>> Demetria: Because you can't handle me.
>> Chloe: What?
They say a drunk man--
no a drunk woman never tells no tales.
>> Demetria: I ain't drunk.
I guess it's true.
So if you want to know what somebody really feels,
just get em drunk.
Have a nice life.
>> Chloe: Hmm.

>> Dave Hollister: Is that what that is, yea.
On the bed.
What's up?
>> Demetria: Well nothing.
I just thought maybe I'd stop by and have a drink with you
and just talk a little bit.

What's going on with you?
>> Demetria: You're so sweet.
That's what I'm missing in my life.
My husband doesn't do any of that.
He doesn't think about me.
He doesn't ask me how my day was.
>> Dave Hollister: Well you know, I aim to please.
So, what's going on with you and your husband?
What's up with that?
>> Demetria: We have lots of issues.
For the last 11 years we've dealt
with a special needs child.
And not to mention my husband can't produce a healthy child.
>> Dave Hollister: Hold on you ain't--
do you want some more to drink?
>> Demetria: Yes.
>> Dave Hollister: I'm listening.
But do you want more--
>> Demetria: Um huh.
>> Dave Hollister: I can do that for you too.
So you say he can't produce.
What wrong with him?
He need some *** what's Ciala something?
>> Demetria: You sound like my friend Chloe.
She just says he's thrown off
and he's focused on other stuff, so.
>> Dave Hollister: You know ***, in vitro
and all of that stuff?
>> Demetria: He might, but I mean the main issue is
that he's always spending time with our daughter, Carrington.
He never has time for us or anything.
What is this?
Because this good.
>> Dave Hollister: Girl,
that's a little you know what I'm saying, saying juice.
Uh huh, that's what I like.
Drink it on up.
You alright?
>> Demetria: Yea, no I like your hotel room.
It's really nice.
>> Dave Hollister: You know,
just the perks of being who I am.
You know what I mean?
>> Demetria: So, what are the perks of being Dave?
>> Dave Hollister: Pretty women in my room
at 2:30 in the morning.
>> Demetria: Is that late?
>> Dave Hollister: Oh yea, it's late.
It's late.
And I'm glad you here that means you don't have to go home.
>> Demetria: No, I have to go home.
Wait a minute?
Are you getting fresh with me?
>> Dave Hollister: Am I getting fresh with you?
No, I just want you to have a good time, baby.
>> Demetria: I'm having a good time.
>> Dave Hollister: So, you're having a good time.
>> Demetria: Can you please stop that.
That's not what I wanted.
>> Dave Hollister: What's you mean that's not what you wanted?
>> Demetria: That's not what I wanted.
>> Dave Hollister: It's 2:30
in the morning what the hell did you think was going to happen?
>> Demetria: I came up here to talk and have a drink with you.
>> Dave Hollister: Oh no, no, no, no you ain't come up here
to talk; we through talking.
There ain't gonna be no more talking.
It's gonna be some of this.
>> Demetria: Dave get off of me.
Get off of me!
>> Dave Hollister: Awhh.
>> Demetria: I hope you rot in hell just
like everybody else in my life.
Thanks for nothing.
>> Dave Hollister: Ughh.

>> Shaun: Demetria where are you going?
>> Demetria: That ain't none of your business.
>> Shaun: We need to talk.
>> Demetria: We don't need to talk about anything.
>> Shaun: No, yes we do.
You run around here acting like you're not my wife and acting
like you're not a mother.
I can't understand what's going on.
What's your problem?
>> Demetria: You are my problem Shaun.
Number one, you ain't even a man.
>> Shaun: Say what?
>> Demetria: Yea I said it, huh.
You are a poor excuse of a man.
You can't even produce a healthy child.
I don't even know why I married you.
>> Shaun: Look where is all this coming from?
Look we have a healthy child.
She's alive and she's breathing.
Alright, now I don't know what's going on but what happened
to Carrington had nothing to do
with you carrying or me producing.
>> Demetria: That ain't true.
>> Shaun: Yes it is.
There were just complication
that happened during the pregnancy which caused her
to deliver early, alright.
Now we don't know why things happen the way
that they do, okay.
But the most important thing is she's our baby.
You need to spend some time with her.
Stop making this all about you.
>> Demetria: You know what Shaun I didn't want
to hear this foolishness, okay.
>> Shaun: No this is what you're gonna do.
You're gonna sit here and you're gonna listen to this, alright.
>> Demetria: Don't you ever grab me.
>> Shaun: You're going to listen to this.
You lost 11 years of your daughter's life
because you chose to hate everybody around you, Chloe,
Carrington and even me.
We haven't done anything to you.
>> Demetria: Yea.
>> Shaun: Maybe you need to ask God
to help you accept our situation.
Have him cleanse your heart
of all this bitterness and evilness.
Help him cleanse your heart.
>> Demetria: So what, you're a prophet now?
Boy please, move out of my way.
You know what I don't need you in my life.
In fact, I don't need none of y'all.
All I need is me.
And you want to know why, because I don't hurt me.
>> Shaun: Well, you know what Demetria, you're going
to need all of us one day.
>> Demetria: No I'm not.
>> Shaun: Yes you will and when that day comes you're going
to regret everything that you've just said and done, okay.
We've been places on this earth for a season
and only God knows the hour.
So, I suggest that you seize the time that you have
on this earth okay, because life is short.
And you never know when your last day is gonna be.
Now, I'm finished with this conversation.
I'm going to the store.
And you will feed your daughter.
Your mother will be here in a minute.
>> Demetria: I can't promise you that I'll be here.
And as far as your daughter is concerned that heffer can die
of starvation for all I care.
>> Shaun: Demetria.
[ Shuffling items around ]
>> Demetria: Girl, shut up back there.
What do you want?
Your daddy is gone.
>> Carrington: [Whining sound]
>> Demetria: Go to sleep.
Now what you will not do is tear up my house.
>> Carrington: I didn't.
>> Demetria: Get in here.
Oh that's right you can't even walk.
This damn wheelchair; why are you so stupid?
Why were you back there throwing those cups around, huh?
Are you trying to ignore me by not answering me?
Talk to me, see your daddy played a little game with you.
But I know that you understand everything that we're saying.
I got a new game for you.
It's called rename Carrington.
I hate the name Carrington.
Your new name is stupid.
Can you say that?
Say stu-pid.
S-T, I'm not fooling with you.
Are you hungry?
Aw stupid wants to eat.
Daddy left this food for you.
I ain't standing here.
Come on stupid.
Here, eat.
Oh, so you're not gonna eat my food, huh?
Oh, we're gonna see about-- huh?
Eat. I said eat.

>> Carrington: Help.

>> Sybil: Demetria.
Demetria. Demetria, oh, oh my God.
Oh, oh my God what is wrong.
Hello.
>> This is 911 is everything okay?
>> Sybil: No my daughter's on the floor.
Get someone out here please, please.
Please, please send someone now please.
>> Someone called prior to your arrival.
We've already dispatched the emergency medical units
and they should be arriving shortly.
>> Sybil: Oh, okay.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Oh. Oh.

>> Carrington: Mom, mom.
[ Sirens sounding ]
[ Birds chirping ]
>> Demetria: Carrington mommy loves you and I'm so sorry
for everything I've done to you, for not loving you
and treating you like you deserve.
I've been so selfish.
I only thought about me and not about you and your dad.
[ Crying ]
>> Demetria: God please forgive me.
God please forgive me for everything I've done.
I never meant to hurt Carrington or Shaun or our marriage.
My baby is a gift and I know she's a gift from you.
Please forgive me God.
Carrington can you please forgive mommy?
Carrington you know today's your birthday.
So, happy birthday Carrington.
Carrington, Carrington oh my God Shaun it's Carrington.
It's Carrington.
Shaun please, it's Carrington.
Baby it's Carrington.
>> Shaun: Okay baby, I got her.
I have her.
>> Demetria: Shaun.
[ Music ]
>> Pastor: God bless you Shaun.
God bless you Demetria.
I just want you to know I'm praying for you
and I appreciate you taking this time to you know talk and pray
because that's the main thing that we're going to do.
But first, I just want to know how you're doing.
>> Shaun: We're okay I guess.
Things could be a whole lot better
but to say the least we're doing okay.
>> Pastor: Yea, God bless you.
Demetria how you doing?
>> Shaun: She can't get past this.
This is one of the things we've been having to deal with.
She doesn't talk at all and I know like--
>> Pastor: Yea, yea, but it's understandable
and what I'm going to do is just spend some time hopefully
depositing some seeds that will later on you can be nourished
by because this is a dark time and there's no way
that I can talk away the pain but I can pray
that God will give you strength as you deal with it.
One of the things I think both of you know is
that God identifies so much with what you're dealing
with because God knows what I means to lose a child.
See, he lost his only son and his only son was crucified
and was murdered and so at least take comfort in knowing
that you're not in this by yourself.
This is one of those things where you need someone
to feel what you feel, well God feels what you feel better
than I can.
Because God again has gone through this,
but the second thing I want to say is remember,
remember the example of David in the scripture.
The Bible says, he also lost a child and he said
when his child died, he worshiped God.
And people were saying, "Well, why are you worshiping God now?"
He said, "Because my child can't come back to me,
but I can go to my child."
That's the beauty of this eternal life says
that death does not have the last word number one,
but then number two God just when you turn to God and not
from God and that's what I'm pleading with you to do,
turn to God and not from God because in doing
that you can turn to each other and not
on each other or from each other.
So, turn to God in worship.
You may not feel it, but here's what God would do.
With all of your questions you may have, such as why God?
I don't know.
There are no answers for this.
The beautiful thing in this a life has been saved even
through this child.
That's the beautiful thing.
God is good like that.
None of this makes sense so what God is going
to do is somehow give you strength to get through it.
So, God won't explain you know why is this happening
but God will sustain you through what's happening
and that's what I need you to know.
God sustains.
God gives strength.
God's grace is sufficient.
God will keep you.
So please know that and know that I'm praying
with you and praying for you.
I'd like to pray right now if you don't mind.
>> Shaun: Please Pastor.
>> Pastor: Let's go to God.
Oh God we thank you and praise you that we can turn
to you in any situation.
Your word says cast your cares upon God knowing
that God cares for you.
Oh God, in the name of Jesus I lift
up in prayer this your couple.
I thank you for bringing them together.
I don't know what's going on in terms of what you were up to,
but I know your sovereign.
I know you care.
I know you love them with a healing love and so
in the matchless name of the Prince of Peace,
the great physician, I claim my faith, your healing touch
that you will guide, will minister to them right
where they are [Background Music] in their brokenness
and grant them healing.
We thank you already for the gift and promise of eternal life
so this precious child Oh God is with you
that we will someday see together.
And so in the name of Jesus Christ heal, give strength,
give peace and give direction.
I believe in you Oh God that the best days
of this couple are not behind them but in front of them.
And so by faith we receive that, in the name of Jesus, amen.
Demetria: Amen.
>> Pastor: God is able.
God is able.
[Crying]
[ Music ]
>> Sybil: Baby, I'm going to go back
and get you all something to eat, alright?
>> Shaun: Thanks mom.
You alright baby?
Oh come on baby you can't keep being so *** yourself.
Come on you got to stop beating yourself up alright.
I lost her too.
>> Demetria: But you didn't lose someone
that you showed so much evil to.
[Crying]
>> Shaun: It's alright baby.
It's okay.
>> Demetria: But you didn't lose someone
that you showed so much hatred to.
You didn't lose someone that you neglected during 11 years
of their life.
You didn't lose someone you carried for 7 months
and endured labor pains.
Shaun I feel so bad inside right now.
How can somebody be so mean to somebody so helpless?
I was so mean spirited.
I didn't care for you or Carrington.
I didn't care about anybody that loved me.
>> Shaun: Oh baby we all have issues and go through things
that we regret, but you know I can't judge you
or hold it over your head.
Because baby it just wasn't-- it would be right.
I'm not saying that what you did was right,
but I can't judge you.
And you and only you have to make peace with God.
And baby, we all make mistakes.
But somehow we just have to learn from our mistakes
and just place all our cares and fears in God's hands
and just move on, okay.
>> Demetria: I don't think God will forgive me.
>> Shaun: Yes he will.
>> Demetria: Shaun, I was so hateful towards God.
I stopped going to church.
I stopped praying.
I just felt like God let me down.
[Crying]
>> Shaun: God never lets us down.
He never does.
Baby just because you stopped going to church and praying
and studying the word doesn't mean that God is not going
to give you a second chance.
>> Demetria: It doesn't feel like it Shaun.
>> Shaun: We always question God.
We're always questioning
and wondering why people get blessed and other don't.
>> Demetria: Yea, like Chloe?
>> Shaun: Exactly like Chloe.
How do some people live ungodly lives get blessed and those
who try to live right don't?
Well, have you ever thought that God has his reasons?
>> Demetria: What are they?
>> Shaun: I don't know.
What I do know is that our God is a sovereign God.
And we always don't understand why he allows certain things
to happen baby, but we just have
to trust him, just believe in him.
>> Demetria: I don't anymore.
I can't.
>> Shaun: I know.
Yes you can.
Who are we to judge God?
God don't owe us an explanation.
Who are we to judge God huh?
>> Sybil: That's right baby.
>> Shaun: Look--
>> Sybil: Look you're going to have to get over this.
You can't keep doing this baby.
Mamma know that this the hardest thing
that will ever happen to you.
Losing a child is so hard.
I get it. When I lost your brother it took everything
out of me.
Look baby you got to get over this.
>> Demetira: Oh mamma, it's so hard.
[Crying]
>> Sybil: I know Demetria.
I know.
>> Shaun: Baby.
>> Demetria: [Crying]
>> Sybil: You got to let God do this for you.
He's the only one that can help you Demetria.
I promise if you give it to him he'll see you through this.
I promise you that.
Listen we got to get out of this, come on.
You know your mamma like to eat.
I got some pecan pie back here.
I got some greens.
I got some chicken.
I got some-- come on y'all let's go come on.
>> Shaun: Come on.
Let's go eat.
>> Demetria: I'll get it.
Just go ahead.
>> Shaun: I love you.
>> Demetria: I love you too.
[Knock on door] Here I come.
Hello. Come on in.
>> Chloe: Hey girl.
>> Demetria: Hi.
>> Chloe: We just stopped
by to pay our condolences to you and Shaun.
>> Ike: Yea, we's a couple now.
>> Demetria: Y'all are together?
>> Chloe: Yea.
>> Ike: Yea.
>> Demetria: That's good news.
>> Ike: We're going to have another child.
I knew we was gonna have another one.
You know-- I got to go tell Shaun.
We gonna have another one.
Yea, where's he at?
>> Demetria: In the kitchen.
Grab you some pie.
So y'all are having another baby.
>> Chloe: Girl no.
I don't know what he's talking about.
We already got one, number three.
>> Demetria: Well, I'm glad you stopped by.
I want to say--
>> Chloe: Shh, you don't have to say anything Demetria.
I know what you're fixing to say.
I accept. I understand and all that stuff.
All I got to say is you better be lucky, cause I have a pistol
in my purse and I was ready to pop a cap in your tail girl.
You don't know me like that.
>> Demetria: See, that's what I'm talking about Chloe.
We are true friends.
You know we're the kind that can disrespect each other one day,
but you know we still love each other.
>> Chloe: Oh, Demetria I did not say we were friends.
You said that.
>> Demetria: Come on now, you know we're friends.
>> Chloe: Yea, I got to work on it.
>> Demetria: Hold on one second, excuse me.
[Phone ringing]
Hello. This is she.
Who? Jason.
With Rogers and Rogers Law Firm.
OK How can I help you?
Yes, Tracey Duncan.
I hadn't seen her in a long time.
Hold on one second Jason.
Ma, Trace do you remember Tracey?
>> Sybil: Maybelle's girl.
Baby she died two weeks ago.
>> Demetria: What, why didn't you tell me?
>> Sybil: She was in a car accident
and her baby lived but she died.
I forgot. I'm old.
>> Demetria: Okay Jason, I'm sorry.
Please continue.
Really. Me?
Are you serious?
Okay. So, tell me what I need to do.
Sure thing.
I will. We will be on the first plane in the morning.
Okay, yes sir.
Thank you Jason.
Oh my God.
>> Sybil: What's going on baby?
>> Chloe: What are you saying?
Where are you going?
You go to fly--
>> Shaun: Hey baby.
>> Demetria: God you have a sense of humor.
>> Sybil: Okay.
>> Demetria: Okay Tracey Duncan, my cousin, well she named me
in her Will to be the next in line to take care of her child.
>> Chloe: Okay, okay.
>> Demetria: In light of an untimely death.
Shaun she has a 12 month old.
She has a 12 month old.
>> Sybil: Demetria.
>> Demetria: We made a pact when were kids that in the event
if one of us passed away before the other
that we would take care of each other's child.
I can't believe she remembered.
>> Shaun: Yea.
>> Demetria: Yes.
Shaun, God has given, given me,
I me God has given us a second chance.
>> Ike: So you can get mad again?
>> Demetria: No Isaac.
God has given us a second chance.
>> Shaun: Okay, well.
>> Demetria: The doctor said we couldn't have another child.
Oh, Shaun the doctor did have another plan.
Shaun.
>> Sybil: Thank you Lord.
>> Ike: Okay so the doctor said they couldn't have another child
but the doctor gave them another child.
>> Sybil: They going to get another baby okay.
>> Ike: Well, who's the other doctor?
>> Sybil: Boy come on back here and eat some of this food.
>> Ike: I'm just kind of confused.
>> Chloe: It's okay, we're just going
to go straight to the kitchen.

>> [Singing] All through my life I had many of ups and downs.
See my daddy wasn't really there when I needed him around,
so I had to turn to Jesus cause he's a real good friend.
He took me by hand and he said I'll be there to the end.
I had so many heartaches and I had so many things I had a lot
of stormy days, but I still can't complain.
Because he's been there yea, yea, yea.
He gave me victory.
So good to me.
Gave me liberty.
Been so good to me.
God's been good to me.
God has been so good to me, oh.
I did see how good God's been good to me.
Picked me up when I did not have a dime.
Oh you stepped in in time.
I remember when I almost lost my mind, you were there
through hard times, triumphs, my [Inaudible] You took care of me
when I couldn't take care of myself.
You've been good to me.

So good. He's been good.
He's been good.

When I nearly lost my mind you jumped in just in time.
Yes you did.
Yes you did.
When I didn't have a dime, yea.
Oh he stepped on time.
Yes he did.
So good. So good.
So good. So good.
So good. Yea.
Yea. [Music]
