Computer TV CES 2009
One of my favorite case manufacturers is definitely Lian Li.
They make some of the sexiest Aluminum cases you're ever seen.
If you're a total geek like me, this stuff is great.
And it's really nice to see their entire lineup here.
Now we're going to talk to my buddy Hank.
He's one of the head honchos over here at Lian Li's,
One of the product managers and developers of the cases.
He's going to show us the 2 new cases that they brought to CES,
so let's take a look.
So we're inside the Lian Li display now, at CES 2003.
I see my buddy Hank over there. But before we get over there,
I want to show you this stuff, in case you can't be here,
I want to show you everything you're missing.
These are those top case panels from Lian Li,
which are really cool because you can put a 360 or 240 rad
on the top of your case, you don't have to cut it or mod it yourself.
You don't ruin the anodization, and you get a really neat case.
They've also got a lot of cool radiators and fans
and hard drive cases all up in here.
These are all great because you can use these
to customize your case to make your cooling solution perfect.
look at these, these are the PCI cooling kits
that you plug into your expansion slots.
Lian Li's custom ball bearing 12cm fans,
which are actually really cool, and Lian Li's
all aluminum compact flash card readers and multimedia card readers.
You know those cheap plastic ones? You don't have to do that.
Aluminum. Really cool stuff. Now, coming over here,
there's a bunch of other cool stuff. Bear with me as I walk over here.
Lian Li's got a line of power supplies that hasn't been very popular in the U.S
because almost nobody carries it, but they are trying to bring it big
at CES. If you have a Lian Li case and you want to modify it with a window,
you don't have to do it yourself if you want to have that perfect outcome.
They sell clear sides for every single case.
Or if you want mesh, they have it as well.
And check out this. This is really cool stuff as well.
These are little mini-ITX cases also for the Ion platform from Intel and Nvidia.
These cases are tiny, and they can have a home theater PC
or media server run through them, but they're really small
and really light, and they run really cool.
One last thing, this is really cool stuff so check this out.
Follow me, follow me, check it out. You guys saw this last year,
but I've never seen it in person. I was really excited to see it.
The XB01B. this is a Xbox 360.
You yank your Xbox, you rip it apart,
you get all the guts and you stick it in here,
you'll never see that red ring of death again,
you'll never see overheating, this is fantastic stuff
at Lian Li. Let's go talk to my buddy Hank over here.
Now I'm here with Hank. Hank, thanks for showing us
the new cases from Lian Li. Tell us a little about this amazing case.
This is the PC 888. Tell me about it,
because it looks absolutely revolutionary,
looks different from any of the other cases I've seen.
What we're trying to do is like, we want to create something unique
and not so boxy, you know?
It's a touch detail on front, you can see the diamond case,
then after, we anodize the whole case.
What inspired you to build a case of this design?
It reminds me of the Burg al arab in Dubai,
that big hotel. -We are not allowed to say that.
You didn't take any inspiration from them...
It's really cool. Talk to me about the cooling in this case.
We actually separated the system into 3 different zones.
So you can see the motherboard is here, hard disk,
and optical on the top. So we separated all the zones
into different areas so we can cool down the system
much quicker and much more silent. -Wow, this is a really cool case.
Very interesting and extremely unique, obviously.
I heard you brought another new case to CES.
Show me that one. let's go.
Hank, this is a very cool looking case, this is the PC Pig 50.
This is really neat. Tell me about this case.
Last year we launched a new case called Spider Case.
Based on the AMD Spider. And this year they launched a new series.
So we did a theme case for them. So we modified our tower case,
as you can see, the dragon case. -This is for the Dragon platform.
If you guys remember, the big spider case that's over here,
take a look at this. This is from last year,
because last year AMD released a spider platform.
You guys remember seeing this at CES last year,
that was the old one, now you're looking at the new one
over there, that is the dragon platform
for the Phenom 2 processors from AMD.
Very cool stuff here at CES, we're at the Lian Li booth,
let's go somewhere else.
