This video briefly describes how to set up your design to maximum your banner stand's
effectiveness. Your graphic template can be set up in Adobe
Illustrator or in any graphic layout software. Start with a new file and put in your overall
dimensions. In this case, our viewable graphic area is
33.5 inches by 78 inches. But as you can see, we have put the height
dimension at 93 inches, which we will explain shortly.
Before importing the design, we will first set our guides or rulers.
One of the bottom guides should be set at 13 inches.
This guide is to indicate you will not be able to see any of your image below this point,
as this portion will be retracted back into the stand, and thus will not be in the viewing
area. The second guide at the bottom should be set at 14 inches
from the bottom edge. The next guide will go at the top 1 inch from
the top edge. No text should appear in this area, as it
would be hard to read. Having other non-text design elements in this
area are perfectly fine. The same is true for the top portion, where
about 1/2 inch will get clipped into the profile and will be obscured by the top profile.
There are many different lengths when it comes to banner stands, so make sure your design
will suit the stand you purchase. If you have a specific media you want to use
in your stand, just be sure that the thickness does not exceed 15 mil as your graphic may
not retract properly. Advantage Sign Supply offers are wide variety
of solvent, eco-solvent, latex, and UV compatible media that will fit in this application including
no curl banners, block out banners, textiles and fabrics in various widths.
