Hi, I'm Kyle Alcala, I am a sophomore here at UNCP and I am from Fayetteville, North Carolina.
My name is Ulysses Leon Preston, I'm a senior,
a major is mass communications
Some events that I have attended through OMMA was,
the Taste of iWorld, which is basically we get
different organizations as well as single students or group of students i
want to come in and they present their culture to everybody it's
get cultures from all all over the world
that come together and present all their stuff
uh... other events
such as social justice symposium it's basically a huge supposing where
a lot of people get together and
and they talk about social justice issues. Using
the Multicultural Center
is that it was it is a place where you come in chill
and there's a little bit different from going to the university center because
there's now a lot of people here
and is usually quiet so you can you study
or you can watch tv
or you can just socialize with other people and learn about their culture
or their history
You can just really kind of get that intimate moment, it's different from being in a into moments different from being in a
large area. One event that I found really eventful and a great experience for me was an event called
"Incognito"
which had, it was a one-man play performed by Michael Frostburg.
and
I really loved that event because
its story about him finding his real father which uh...
which he found out to be a black African-American and it was really
enlightening because it was a
great experience as well as
i can relate to that because I
looked for my real father and stuff like that and after many years
, it was a great experience relating to that Dr. Roberts Terrance,
one of the
little rock nine speakers
because they brought him here so in i was really excited me because i never
really met a civil rights of person are in person was someone who is of that
magnitude that time
Then they also brought multiple
other speakers that give you as sense of history a sense of self.
