Hi, I’m Todd Lappin from san francisco and this is my daughter Miel. We are totally
unprepared.
Hi, I’m Ron Haralson from Totally Unprepared dot com.
Today the crew and I are in San Francisco at the home of Todd Lappin and his daughter Miel.
See, you just experienced what it feels like to be in a big earthquake. What I want to
talk about now is being prepared in your house.
Do you know about Drop, Cover and Hold On?
Yes. Okay what's important about that is to make sure you practice it,
and have a safe place and every room just like we’ve gone throughout the house. Okay so in the event
of an earthquake of something happening right now, where would be the best place to go?
Uh, I might head under the dining room table? That'd be a good place.
Ready Miel? Watch your head. Let’s go!
Let’s drop!
Hold on, keep holding on till the shaking stops.
Good, good. Its still shaking, still shaking. And we can come out when the shaking stops
Take cover right there your gonna drop cover right there. Okay bathrooms can
be tricky
Okay, cover your head up
There you go, perfect.
So now we’re out of the way of the skylight and anything that could fall on you.
When do we get up, Miel? When it stops shaking.
Ah, when it stops shaking, you are absolutely right. Perfect!
