Open your video clip by clicking on following icon. On the main interface - click on file tab,
then select - properties. This is your project settings page, it contains main information
that will be stored as a project file in "Sony Vegas". Be aware that it may differ from the
final output you get by rendering a video. It's because the software have separated into
three workspaces - input or your raw video settings that is built-in as a part of video
information, project settings that store all your "inputs" and final output which is made
while you render your project. What this means is that you may want to fit all your frame
rates, aspect ratios and audio settings in each of these workspaces to avoid losing data
unnecessary. "Smart resampling" is used to fix frame rate differences. When using constant
frame rate in each workspaces, it can be turned off. It produces so-called "ghosting" and
it's particularly clear to see when you pause the video. The first thing to do before making
a final output is to check the project settings to fit the originally file settings to prevent
data loss, also be aware to use correct aspect ratios and resolution. Unfortunately, in Sony
Vegas, H264 codec can be launched only under AVI container which may limit the size of
file you can render. Some useful resources will be available at video description.
Thank you, and have a good day.
