Reports out of Bangladesh say rescuers have found a woman alive in the rubble of a collapsed
building — 17 days later.
Media outlets are calling the rescue miraculous, considering the building collapse was the
worst the country's ever seen — and the fact that she appeared nearly unscathed. A
garment worker, Reshma clung to life in the basement, relying on food and water that lasted
until two days ago. (Via Somoy TV)

The New York Times reports rescuers recently gave up any hope of finding more survivors.
Just days earlier, crews began using heavy machinery to quickly clear debris from the
side.
Before now the last survivor was found at the end of April, but she was not as fortunate.

those efforts and eventually killing the woman. (Via The Guardian)
Xinhua reports more than 2,437 people have been pulled alive from the ruins. Twelve people
have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the collapse.
