This is Acai.
Of the 200 fruits found in the Amazon, it's the most powerful.
At Sambazon, we're all about Amazon superfoods
that deliver next level nutrition.
And it was Acai that originally inspired us to start our company over a
decade ago.
As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so we're back in the Amazon to show you
what it's all about.
You know Acai looks very similar to a blueberry.
It has an insane amount of powerful purple antioxidants and healthy omegas,
so it's like combining the nutritional attributes of red wine and olive oil.
Acai grows everywhere in the Amazon. It grows atop these beautiful palm trees
that line the banks of the Amazon.
It's actually the Amazon River that gives the trees their nutrients. Think about that.
That's pretty amazing.
Locals have been climbing these trees for centuries.
They climb the trees. They pick the berries by hand,
stripped into these baskets
and taken
down river to the markets.
Processing Acai is incredibly tricky. It's basically a raise from pick to process
because the fruit can spoil in less than a day and the berry is like ninety five
percent inedible pit.
When you eat the fruit, you're just eating the skin, so it's like concentrated
purple antioxidants.
We poured our heart and soul into building the most advanced acai factory in the world.
It's built at the source, on the Amazon, to deliver the freshest acai possible.
You know we built Sambazon on a triple bottom line philosophy
which means that success isn't just based on financial
performance but
social and environmental impact well.
At Sambazon,
our Acai is one hundred percent organic,
also fair trade certified and
sustainably harvested.
The farmers no longer have to cut the trees to survive.
They have Acai.
We've been able to help
fund and build local schools, support environmental education programs
and we're always looking for ways to just make a more positive impact.
For example, we use the leftover seeds, we have mountains of these seeds,
and we use them to help fuel our factory and
then whatever's left over we donate to
a local brick maker
um... so that he doesn't have to cut down forest to fuel his furnaces.
We first tried Acai on the beaches of Brazil.
There you'll find it like a thick smoothie,
topped with granola and sliced bananas. It's insanely delicious.
Having Acai this way inspired us to bring Acai back to the States
and now we have a fully organic line of Acai products.
