Just as with the greens, we discovered that there were a lot of different greens, there's
a lot of different colors in these reds. Around the edges they're dark red, and pure reds,
and then there's pinks, and there's some oranges and even right now I'm working with a color
that's more purple than red or magenta. And the more you look, the more you see. And every
time you put what you see on the painting, it becomes more and more real. Use the same
devices to help separate, use contrast every time you have the opportunity to, and observe,
the flowers will take on shapes and believability as you separate them from each other, with
either lighter areas of contrast or darker areas of contrast and it's beginning to feel
like flowers.
