Doesn’t everyone wish they could be on a game show? You sit around at home, surrounded
by friends or family and play along. And you are always so good, you don’t miss any questions,
or you can’t imagine anyone knowing the answer. Yeah, it’s always, “This is too
easy,” or it’s, “How is anyone suppose to know that?” Well, now you can play and
show off your amazing trivia knowledge, all without having to leave the couch for play
in-front of a real live studio audience that is waiting to laugh at your failure.
Buzz! Quiz Player is another entry in Sony’s running game show simulator. You create your
profile and enter into the show. Your job is to answer all the questions as fast as
you can, in-order to score the most amount of points. The questions cover a large gap
of topics, including movies, music, science, math, and geography. You have to be well versed
in many categories if you want any chance of earning a good score.
When played by yourself, the game can feel very limited. But the game improves astronomically
when you play with friends. You and 3 other friends, all trying to buzz in the fastest
and with the right answer can be crazy and chaotic, and tons of fun. The game really
is meant to be played with friends.
There are several different game types, all designed to get you going. From Fastest Finger,
to Point Stealer, each one is sure to have you and your friends arguing and trash talking.
Seriously, I can’t imagine playing this game with friends and everyone sitting around
casually, just pressing the buttons for the answer. Each time you miss out, I’m sure
you will want to say something or try to get in the other player's heads when they are
answering. What I’m trying to say is, this is an ideal party game, especially since anyone
can play and have fun, no matter their age.
Inevitably, you will begin to see some questions start to repeat. The game has nice support
through the Playstation Store, having additional question packs available for a small purchase.
Packs are grouped according to category, so if you like music, you can buy just music
questions. It is disappointing the game doesn’t come with more questions, with the online
working like microtransactions, but who’s to complain when the initial game is free.
Buzz! Quiz Player is a nice quiz game that is not too bad when playing by yourself and
a whole lot of fun when played with friends, with fun and challenging questions. It is
sure to become a group favorite, as bickering and psyche outs just come with the territory.
