Hey guys, this is Goji73 coming at to you with a Figure Review.
Now that I have reviewed Mecha Gomora
from my current collection update video,
here is the next
guy to come after him,
and so here he is...
Neo Geomos
from Ultraman Dyna.
Now with this guy's history,
if you'll notice in some of the early heisei ultraman series'
you'll know that that few handful of monsters
happen to have like some sort of
homage to the older mon--
the older showa monsters
like for example
Silvergon is like an homage to Red King
uh... AntiMatter
from Gaia is an homage to Pestar (and so on and so on and so forth...)
Well this particular monster, Geomos
(This is Neo Geomos, his
evolution but I'll get onto that later)
Anyway, Neo Geomos is kinda like the early heisei homage to Gomora
I mean the episodes, the monster himself,
and he even carries out
a little bit of homages
to Eleking and Mothra,
but mostly he's a
really huge Gomora homage
so to show this lets
start off with his history.
Now to start off first,
After building these satellites that orbit the moons around like Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and stuff
SUPER GUTS finds this
artifact on one of Mars's moon,
and so they go to study it
but realize that
the artifact is actually a piece of Gransphere.
(The villain series baddie of Ultraman Dyna)
So they--
they release the Gransphere which crash-lands on Earth
and soon the Gransphere begins to absorb the rock material covering earth
which ultimately creates the first form, Geomos.
Now the homage there to Gomora is pretty much where he crash-lands on Earth because when Gomora was um...
airlifted to go to the museum he was
accidentally
dropped and caused but yeah um...
(trails off, should be going back onto the subject...)
Anyway, Geomos starts feeding on the earth
and there's nothing SUPER GUTS can do to stop him because he can create this
sound wave--
this Sound Wave Barrier that it makes beam attacks immune
to his body, and even Ultraman Dyna gets his *** kicked due to the sound field
and even like
and in a rather comedic way
Geomos actually like
tackles
Dyna so hard that he actually
hurls him over the the horizon
Kind of like some sort of "Team-Rocket's-blasting-off-again" scenario.
But anyways, after Geomos defeats Dyna, and Shin loses the Red Spark because of that tackle attack there
Geomos borrows back under the ground where he begins
to morph from the rocks that he eats
and ultimately he becomes the form we are looking at right now
Neo Geomos.
And when he returns back to the surface
Neo Geomos use the
carcass or shelling that created his first Geomos form
to distract
SUPER GUTS and the military from attacking him
while the real form, Neo Geomos appears in Osaka to rampage of a bit more.
But by that time, SUPER GUTS create a weapon that neutralizes his
Sound Barrier attack,
Shin Asuka gets his
Red Spark back
and he fight Neo Geomos again, this time having an advantage oddly
in the end basically
Shin--
Ultraman Dyna fights back
and even though he (Neo Geomos) has a new attack in his tail,
with the help of SUPER GUTS,
Dyna and SUPER GUTS are able to destroy Neo Geomos.
And so that's it for Neo Geomos's history
I'm sorry if it took so long but you know
there is-- to be honest, there is no Bandai version of the original Geomos
and I just thought I'd let that little trivial note out there so for one particular user who thinks
I dribble on with the story too much...
blame Tsuburaya for not making an real Geomos!
But anyway, now onto detail.
Now of course, like I said earlier, I don't
have the original
Geomos
since Tsuburaya never told Bandai to make a real one.
So really,
looking at this all around, this, the detail on this is actually really nice
I mean like for example: If you look very closely, there's a whole bunch of ridges in here like
on the brown areas here he looks all rocky but on the blue areas here he's actually really
"line-y"
Like all the rocks are spiked I think
(well, not spiked) but cracks and stuff, and it looks really nice
and basically, the real
difference between the two is that
the original Geomos had Ginormous
claws
and the head was in the middle of the body
so basically he's more like
egg-like in his original form but yeah,
Another thing to know about the tail is, when I mentioned that he had some sort of particular homage to Eleking is that
His tail in--
in Neo Geomos is like
quadru-- triple this length.
But in fact, the length it is right now is kind of like how long it is when it gets
"destroyed."
Yeah, so it's not really a bad thing that the tail is that short.
I mean for the sake of the figure
Who could blame them?
And now onto superpowers
Now as Neo Geomos has quite an array of super powers
like for example:
He can use his tail to coil around his victims
and that little claw right there, whatever the claw touches it basically electrocuted his opponent
so again, another tiny homage two Eleking...
And of couse
the uh...
the little sound barrier, he's basically like really really immune to beams attacks
to the point where SUPER GUTS has to make like this special laser too
basically neutralize it.
Also for some attack is um...
in these form he has a weird attack which either shoots from his eyes or the middle of his forehead
he can shoot red fireballs, so yeah
and his last attack that I know...
From all over his back, when his body it like this he basically shoots
blue lightning from all over his back.
Like it comes out around here and goes like that,
or like that.
So yeah, that I believe is all of his attacks.
And now onto articulation,
he basically had the basic points
both arms rotate 360
they kinda brush up against the legs but that's alright.
The legs also rotate 360 but you have to move the arms out of the way in order to do that
(particularly this one)
four points, really basic
and unfortunately if you looking at the
seal here, this is not breakable and I wouldn't recommend it
but one point I have found that's interesting is
the claw here
so yeah, that's a really
nice and interesting point there.
So yeah, 5 points, one is rather awkwardly place but pretty basic all the same.
And now onto sizing
Seeing as I don't have Ultraman Dyna,
here is the closest person I have to him
Ultraman Tiga.
Now I guess this is ok, I mean we always know that the Ultras kneel when they fight
but
when given that, Neo Geomos is actually somewhere around
there's big when
if Dyna were standing so
no real problem here...
so is that ok.
And like I said since he is the "homage" to this monster
here is
Gomora
I guess
this works, I mean Gomora & Ultraman are really closely
sized together
so again, Geomos might need to be somewhere around this big but yeah
there doesn't seem to be any real problems here
aside from that little
height issue, so yeah this is good.
And since I never really pulled out this monster before, and since a friend of mine also got this monster too...
(thanks to me)
I'll pair him up with this particular monster...
The Final Wara Godzilla
Yeah again that little tiny notion where he should be like something around this big,
but yeah, I mean he looks a lot more smaller when you have him but he is one of the bigger
figures or the closest thing too bigger.
So yeah this is really good.
I mean if this Godzilla were 50 meters than yeah
this would be alright.
And finally rareity,
unfortunately I don't see any real
I don't see Neo Geomos as one of the few
"common" Ultraman Dyna monsters, I would consider him "rare."
Because he doesn't really pop up that often...
So I consider him
moderately rare.
And so that's it for this review. History is short (it's a two part episode.)
Detail is good.
Superpower has quite a few. Articulation is basic-ish good.
Sizing is ok, and
Rareity my moderately rare.
So in the end, I give the figure an 8 out of 10.
It's an O.K. figure
I mean we don't have the original but he's okay...
And so that's it,
I hope you enjoyed this review
