This is a Green Whip Snake that we have found
a few kilometres from here
close to a dwelling!
Stay quiet! Stay quiet! Look at its "S position "! It wants to strike!
Don't strike me!
Come back to the ground! Don't worry! Don't worry! Wooow!
Look at its...
Look here!
Look at its beautiful coloration
a yellow crosslinked of black, like a tiger!
These colours...
When it moves quickly
give the effect of a light green!
Wooooh-ooow!!
Look how beautiful it is!
A beautiful snake! It's the classic drop-dead beautiful snake!
Wooooow!!!
Look at its scales on its head!
They are, unlike vipers' scales, very large and ordered!
Vipers' scales are granular and disorderly arranged!
Its eyes are very big and body is tapered and robust!
Look here! It's very quiet!
Woooh-oow!
Don't imitate me!
I know how to calm these snakes
I lived with many animals, including venomous and non-venomous snakes
and other animals
that you could consider aggressive or even repugnant monsters! But this isn't true!
Western Whip Snake's tooth are very large,
sharp and bent towards the inside! They are like lamellas!
Western Whip Snake uses them to bite
its preys
and hold them.
Tooth are bent towards the inside
in order to hold its preys! This snake is a skilled constrictor!
You know...
If you see a snake like this or other snakes, don't emulate me!
I've been living with these snakes since i was born and I know how to handle them
and how to calm them!
I can understand their intentions from their body movements!
Woooh-ooow!
Now it's quite calm
but it's becoming a bit angry.
In order to calm a snake
it's necessary to feel it
on our own fingers and
give chance to the snake to understand
that it is not in danger!
Hands must be soft
to let him slide
...let him slide slowly and gently...
very gently...
Ok, now it is becoming angrier...
I wouldn't like to be bit from this snake! Even if it is not venomous
its bite is quite painful! Stay quiet!
In these moments I appreciate
and give credits to the work
of Steve Irwin
who taught me how to handle these snakes
and how to calm them,
how to feel them on my own hands!
Now I and the snake are in the same wavelenght! Beautiful! Woooh-ooow!
Look here! It's very quiet!
This snake is one of the most aggressive in Italy! It's the second
after the Montpellier Snake!
I love this snake!
And I want it to grow
and reproduce
to make its species go on!
These snakes are very adaptables!
They can live both in wet lands and arid mountains! Now we set it free!
What a wonderful snake!
Its colors! Its shape! Wooow!
Look! It's already looking for a lair! Let's try to follow it!
I'm very tired...
We have worked very hard to reach this area...
I thank everybody for helping me
to safeguard this magnificent snake!
Woooh-oooow!!! Yes!! Wooow!
Don't worry Lorenzo!
Be quiet! Give me the camera!
Stay still Mattia!
