Hairlover's how are you?
I am CheariShea from Kabei Duru and today I'll be talking about Jamaican Black Castor Oil.
If you follow us on Facebook you've probably already heard about this oil before.
If that is not the case, don't worry. I will tell you all about it.
What is JBCO?
It's a Jamaican variation to the castor oil we are accustomed to. (zeta di karapata)
The oil is made of seeds from the castor oil plant that just so happens to grow on Curacao aswell.
The recipe for the JBCO arrived in Jamaica during slavery,
but prior to that it was made in Egypt and use as a curative oil for thousands of years.
What is the difference between JBCO and the castor oil you find at the farmacy?
It's quiet simple. The JBCO has a bit of the ashes of the burnt castor seeds added to it.
That's about it.
This does mean that the oil is a bit darken, smells a bit burnt and contains certain minerals that are beneficial for your hair and scalp.
JBCO knows various uses and it's definitely beneficial for your hair.
Not just the *** and coarse hair, butfor at all types of hair.
It's know to [1] aid the growth of your hair and [2] thicken it
so if you suffer from hair loss, JBCO might be an option for you.
It also [3] soften your hair and [4] provides nourishment to your scalp.
It [5] prevents infections, dandruff and irritation.
You can also use it as an [6] oil treatment for your hair or add it in your conditioner.
JBCO can also be used as a [7] massage oil or as an [8] addiction to your body lotion, to soften your skin.
It's also used to [9] relieve cramps and [10] muscle aches.
Now you know the uses the JBCO, let me tell you about our experience with the Oil here at Kabei Duru.
Personally I love the oil. It absorbs very quickly in my scalp and i like to use it for my braids and twists
because it prevents the hair from frizzing and it keeps the ends nice and soft.
CapAlli (anothe blogger) was telling me she likes it because of it's thick consistency and
because a little goes a long way. Your hair could stay oily for 2-3 days.
I do find it difficult when washing my hair because the oil is thick.
Some people do not like the smell of the oil but I don't care.
