Hi I'm Paul Fitzgerald, Director at Erie Institute of Technology. EIT offers career training
in electronics, computers, and manufacturing. Today we're going to talk about the CNC Machinist
Technician program. The CNC Machinist Technician program is a 12 month program which program
combines classroom instruction and hands-on training. Students learn everything they'll
need to know to begin a career as an entry level machinist. You'll begin by taking courses
that will provide you with a strong foundation in which to build. You'll learn blueprint
reading, how to use inspection tools, and gain the skills required to operate manual
lathes and drill presses. As you progress through your education you'll learn more about
advanced topics such as OSHA safety standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
You'll take several courses to learn the skills required to operate CNC Mills and Lathes.
Students also learn professional development skills such as interviewing and resume building.
