What do you know about the GE Profile vs Cafe vs Monogram? I don't know which one to get.
GE likes coming up with premium appliance brands with surprisingly generic names.
Let's look at GE ranges. I think they have each of those models.
The GE Cafe came in fourth for smooth top single oven ranges. The other GE ranges did
not do so hot.
Ovens should be hot.
Tell that to the designers. Anyway, the GE Profile top freezer refrigerator was the top
rated fridge in that class according to Consumer Reports.
So the GE Profile is the better model.
It depends on the appliance and the year. For example, the GE Café came in 13th when
it came to three door French door bottom freezer fridge designs but higher when you looked
at other appliances.
It was also three thousand dollars.
GE quality is all over the map. For top freezers without an ice maker, it was the most reliable
whereas bottom freezers were the least reliable.
I wouldn't get a bottom freezer; I'd get a chest freezer.
GE is middle of the pack for reliability when it comes to side by side fridges.
What about dishwashers?
The top rated GE dishwasher came in 28th, and it is not a Profile, a Cafe or a Monogram.
That sounds bad, even when you realize that was out of a hundred models or so they reviewed.
A GE Profile came in 41st while another came in 48th. The GE Monogram came in a disappointing
64th.
Then the Monogram is the premium GE brand to avoid.
Just look at the Consumer Reports ratings. GE is a good brand, but some of their premium
models like the Cafe and Profile are not.
So what should I do when comparing the GE Profile vs Cafe vs Monogram?
Consider that the GE appliance without the fancy name may be better.
