I have OCD and it's a little interactive.
So, wake up! The good news...
First, before I tell you the good news,
I'd like to ask you to take a deep breath.
Wait, not yet, not yet. You will take a breath,
you will hold your breath,
and once I announce the good news,
you will say, "Ahhhh"! Ok?
Go! Take a breath.
The good news is:
"I am the last one!" Ahhhh!
No, seriously!
Well, not too seriously.
We are often, now, in our world,
flooded by waves of words, really, waves of words
in the form of advertisements, calls, messages, mails,
tweets, texts, Facebook, the Internet,
Instagram, LinkedIn...
Instantaneous connected, present...
but to what? To whom?
Finally, we forgetto connect to ourselves.
Maybe we don't even know how to do it!
We live so inside our heads, not our bodies,
and often far from our hearts.
And I know a powerful way
to connect,
a sort of, well, internal Wi-Fi
and it's the password that I'd like to
share with you, to get access!
But first, a short true story.
Some 12 years ago, I was taking my son for a walk
in his stroller in Paris, in the street, like this,
and the sun was shining brightly on both our faces
and all of a sudden, in his stroller, he lifted both his arms
and he chanted the password: "Om, om, om."
Maybe not very impressive
for the son of a yoga teacher.
But for me, even having chanted "Om" for
years with great yogis in orange robes,
never in the middle of the street,
full of people, like this little one.
Through this experience, I can say that
I encountered or I lived the power of Om.
But Om isn't the private property of yogis, or Hindus, or Buddhists
No, for many civilizations, cultures, religions,
Om is the origin of the universe.
For the Egyptians: Amon. For the Christians: Amen.
For Muslims: Amin. And we also find it
in others, with the Inuits, the Mayans, the Greeks, the Romans,
in fact, the Celts.
It's everywhere, it's universal.
Today, we also find these words, in English,
in French, in Italian, in Spanish.
Whenever we want to describe the grandiose.
Omniscience!
Omnipotence!
Omnipresent!
Or to describe the infinitely small:
the atom!
So yes, for all these civilizations
Om created the universe, maybe it can create,
recreate something in ourselves.
This connection, remember, this password.
Are you ready?
Of course, we're going to end our evening here,
interactively, chanting Om.
I propose, now, to ask you to
comfortably adjust your seat,
place your feet flat.
And if you prefer not too... look, that's fine!
Close your eyes.
Place your hands comfortably
on your thighs, your feet flat.
Take a few moments to...
Listen to your own breath.
Feel the air passing down your throat,
entering your lungs.
Little by little, create your own world,
among all the others here.
And I will explain to you how to do it.
Om is, in fact, three syllables: a, o, and m.
When we sing the "a," it's near the bottom,
the "o" rises up toward the heart
and then the "m", the head.
We are going to say "Om" three times together.
We're going to leave a small pause between each time.
And I will guide you. Okay, let's breathe in together
and after the exhale we will chant the three syllables.
Take a deep breath!
Aaaaaooooommmmm.
Ahem, come on!
Take a deep breath!
Aaaaaooooommmmm.
Take a breath!
Aaaaaaoooooommmmmm.
Chant in silence to yourself, once.
Slowly open your eyes.
I hope you will have beautiful dreams tonight.
Thank you very much.
