You enrolled in courses and finally got your schedule just the way you want it. You're
all set, right? Well, not quite. You still need to become a registered student by paying
or deferring your fees, because if you don't, you'll be removed from your courses. If you
choose to pay your fees, you need to pay at least the minimum amount listed on your ROSI
account by the deadline found in the Registration Guide. If you still have a balance from previous
academic sessions, you need to pay those fees too. To find out how much you owe, log on
to ROSI, select "Financial Account" and click "Show Invoice." You'll find your minimum payment
here. There are a few ways to pay your fees. If you have an account at a major Canadian
bank or credit union, you can pay your fees at the bank, or through online or telephone
banking. Don't wait until the last minute -- it can take up to five business days for
your payment to be processed and reflected on ROSI. If you're paying from a credit union,
it may take a little longer. If you're outside of Canada, you can make a payment through
Western Union GlobalPay for Students, or you can send a bank draft or money order in Canadian
funds. For full details, check out the student accounts website, fees.utoronto.ca. In certain
situations, your fee payment can be deferred, which means that you'll be registered even
though you haven't paid. You can defer your fee payment if you meet these two conditions:
You must receive a scholarship or government funding (such as a student loan) that covers
the amount of your minimum payment. AND You must have paid your balance from previous
academic sessions in full. Check out the Registration Guide to learn about deferrals. Once your
payment or deferral has been processed, the status on your ROSI account will change from
"invited" to "registered", which means you're officially a registered student. You have
the rest of the session to pay the remaining fees, but keep in mind that a monthly service
charge of 1.5% of the remaining balance will be charged on your account starting November
15 for the Fall/Winter Session, or June 15 for the Summer Session. For more details,
check out the Registration Guide at www.utm.utoronto.ca/guides. If you have any questions, call or drop by
the Office of the Registrar, and we'll help you figure it all out.
