Jem: Don't worry darling, we'll find him
Danny: Alright little man? Alright love? Jem: No I'm not alright, I'm looking for teddy.
Danny: What? Jem: What do you think you're doing? Danny: what does it look like I'm doing?
Jem: I'll tell you what, you just sit on your *** while I give your son his tea and try
to find his bloody teddy. Danny: Just let me check the scores alright
and then I'll help you look. Jem: For once can you just pull your weight
around here and help me out. Alfie won't eat anything until I find the damn thing. Then
I've got to put him in the bath, get him in bed and then I've got to cook our tea.
Jem: Did you hear me? It's a stupid game.
Now can you please feed Alfie while I look for his teddy? He's been asking for his daddy all day.
Danny: Alright Alfie emergency search and
rescue operation under way, subjects name is Ted, he is about 6 inches tall, lets see
if we can find him.
Here he is mate. There you go. Sorted, now mummy can feed ya. Jem: Why can't you? I've still got to get
him in the bath and put him to bed and cook our tea. Can you not just do that one simple
thing for me? Danny: Look I've had a really hard day alright.
I just want to check the football scores. Jem: Oh and I've not
Danny: I know you're tired too alright, lets not do this in front of Alfie.
Danny: Alright, I'll go. Just give me a second
Jem: Today?
Danny: Alright love, I know you're tired.
A little while later.... Danny: What's for tea?
Jem: What? Danny: Nothing
Jem: What? Danny: Nothing It's just that we had this yesterday
Danny: I'm sorry babes, I didn't mean to have a poke at you.
Jem: Look I'm sorry I haven't had the chance to sort anything else out. The kids have run
me ragged all day Danny: Its fine babes, it's better than throwing
food away. Danny: At least it's cooked in the middle
today, ay. Danny: It's nice to see you smile again
When I've been coming home from work lately it's like you've been waiting for me with a list
of more things to do. Now look, I am happy to help out, just not
the minute I get in the door. I just want to feel like you're pleased to
see me Jem: Look babes I get it. I work hard too,
the difference is you get to leave the house and talk to people. I don't.
I know you're working hard, but you're a dad too. Sometimes I just can't manage it all
on my own, especially on days like today. Danny: I do appreciate what you do for me.
I do appreciate what it takes to keep the house going, the kids, cooking, cleaning.
I do appreciate it. But when I get in the door I just need to wind down for a bit.
Jem: So do I. The trouble is I am always at work.
Danny: That's why I gave up football training, so I could come home and give you a hand and
so we could spend some time together. Jem: Yeah I get that. I know everything you've
given up but that just makes me feel worse. Danny: I just miss the lads
Jem: Yeah I miss my friends too. I haven't seen anyone in ages.
