My name is Victor Urbina
and I am from the city of Pittsburg (CA).
I bought my home in 2003
Since 2003 up until the beginning of 2009
I have made my payments, worked hard and made sacrifices
using up all my savings until I reached a point where I couldn't keep up.
I spoke to the bank on two opportunities
they never gave me any favorable options
They didn't have a plan in place,
this was before the (Obama) plan to help people and since then.
Basically, the banks were and continue to do what they want
They are not paying attention to what we are going through
We are losing our homes.
Recently, I received a letter stating that my house will be auctioned off
this next month on October 14
It caught me completely by surprise
I called the bank to investigate
There appears to have been a modification made by phone but I am not sure
I'm not sure what is going to happen.
The truth of the matter is we're not getting any help
It seems like nobody cares.
I believe that if we don't unite together as a community
no one is going to help us
Our unity is very important
We need to move forward, whether we lose our home or not
we need to fight together united
shoulder to shoulder, one by one helping each other
to make a difference because the banks
The banks are not going to listen to just one person,
they need to see that we are a group
so they can take see that something is happening
and that we need to be helped.
