In this tutorial I'm going to show you how you can use Google Translate to provide your visitors with the ability to translate your web pages into a language that they can understand.
OK so i've just loaded up a web page and its a standard accountant firms and it says international scope so i'm thinking let be able to get this website in a variety of languages.
OK the key thing to note is that this won't work with images that contain text because they are not HTML, it will only work with HTML text, so that anything with blue boxes around it, it will work with your menu bars, it will work with your forms
It won't work with creative text and thats got the grey boxes around it.
OK so once we've got our page and we are happy with it we go to Google.
And in this case i've just typed in Google.co.uk.
I'm just going to click on more, and Translate.
From here I'm going to click on Tools and Resources.
And the first this it asks for it to select the language of your web page.
And thats English, and it will ask you to select all the languages or just specific languages.
I'm going to leave all languages selected, it's important to remember that the less common a language it is the more rough the translation will be.
So common and popular languages like Italian, Spanish and French they got much better translation than something like Swaheli.
Ok so once you've done that, the code is shown here, just click on it, press ctrl+c to copy.
And we're back in our WebPlus, go to the toolbar and click Insert HTML code.
And i;m just going to drag it. It's important to put it on a prominant place on your web page. I'm just going to click Paste to Body and OK.
Once you're happy with that i'm just going to press Alt+2 to preview the site. You can see the sites come up, its still in English.
And we've got this little drop down box to select the language, and if I go for say French, all of a sudden the text has turned into French.
The exception being anything that was creative text frame which is what you can still read in English.
Even the field forms and the buttons have change to French as well.
Interestingly if you highlight over something it will tell you what the original text is.
So we can try another language...lets go for something like...Arabic
Again it shows it in the Arabic text.
And if they finished up with it they can just click show original and it's back into English.
You'd have to put this on each page on your website or you could put it on each master page on your website and that will translate through to all the subsequent pages.
