Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. How lovely.
What a lovely word.
What a noble word.
What a powerful word. Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim.
How beautiful man is.
Those who walk with the Pure,
who are friends of the Pure,
how beautiful you are!
May Allah bestow that purity on us as well.
Allah grants it, but the servant needs to hold on to it.
Come to us, O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan.
Tariqatuna as-suhba.
Our way is the way of suhba, of association.
A person who has no speech and does not converse is a beast.
You must converse and speak, or else you must listen.
Today is a new day
of our Lord.
We ask the power
of a new manifestation.
Our Lord, Allah, Jalla Jallalahu.
Our prophet, the Prophet of the Last Times,
Habibu r-Rahman, Sayyidi l-awwalin wa l-akhirin.
The Creator of heavens and earths,
Allah Almighty, subhanahu wa ta‘ala, [says:]
O My Beloved, for you I have created the heavens and the earths.
"Lawlaka, lawlak, la-ma khalaqtu l-aflaq".
Had it not been for you, I would not have created this universe.
For your glory I have created them, O glorious Prophet.
Masha'Allah.
Come, O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan.
From the blessed words of Shah-i Mardan
may power come to our hearts,
and light descend upon our faces.
Let us be beautiful. Allah has created man to be beautiful.
Be beautiful. Allah does not love what is ugly.
It is makruh, a disliked thing.
Come to us, O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan.
Let us say: Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim.
O Absolute Master and Creator
of the Universe, our Lord.
I bow down before You.
No one knows the state of Your creatures before You created them,
and no one knows how their end will be.
The most noble of all that You created is Your Beloved.
The beloved of Your Beloved is Shah-i Mardan.
You, too, must love him.
Love and be loved; if you do not love, you will not be loved.
Let us begin our speech with the words
Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim.
Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim.
Bismillahi-lladhi la yadurru ma‘ ismihi shay'un fi l-ardi wa la fi s-sama'i
wa huwa s-sami‘u l-‘alim. That person will have no trouble;
a person who recalls the Name of his Creator, of the Creator
of the Universe, the Lord of Might and Glory, Allah, Jalla Jallalahu;
he who recalls His blessed Name will see no trouble.
But he who forgets, will sink in a sea of troubles.
Come to us,
O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan.
Ask of Allah Almighty,
and ask also of His Beloved.
Allah Almighty created His Beloved to be beautiful.
There is no one more beautiful than he in the whole universe.
O My Beloved,
I have made your essence to be a mirror of My Own Essence.
He who wishes to behold My Beauty,
into what mirror, at whom should he look?
He should look at My Beloved.
Allahu akbar,
Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar wa li-llahi l-hamd.
Let us not grow weary on Your way, O Lord.
Do not grow tired. The world tires you out.
This world, dunya,
puts you into the position of an animal.
Therefore this world makes mankind weary.
This world tires you out.
But He who created you
did not create you to be tired out.
My servant shall not be wearied! Allahu akbar,
Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar wa li-llahi l-hamd.
My servant should not be tired out!
I have created My servant to be beautiful. He must not be ugly.
I love not the ugly ones, says Allah Almighty.
I do not love those that are ugly, says Allah Almighty.
He gave to Adam, ‘alayhi s-salam, such great beauty
that the angels envied him.
That beauty
is My mirror, He said. The Beloved,
My Beloved is My mirror.
He reflects My Beauty to you.
Speak of this, O ‘ulama of Egypt! O people,
although you plunge headfirst into the dung of dunya,
your Lord has sent to you His Beloved
who reflects His own Divine Beauty.
Why do you not follow him? O Padishah of countless riches,
You are our Lord. You are our Creator.
O my Lord, it is You who has created me. O my Lord,
You have bestowed upon me many kinds of gifts.
Thanks be to You, O our Lord.
"Innahu min Sulaymana
wa innahu Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim."(27:30)
What a lovely holy verse!
Look, this is addressing mankind.
Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar,
Allahu akbar, wa li-llahi l-hamd.
Our Lord Allah who is Lord over heavens and earths,
there is no one who knows what came before Your dominion came into being,
and no one who knows how it shall end.
He says: O My servant, I have dressed you in Beauty.
I have dressed you in a robe of pride and honour,
so that the angels said: Dress that robe upon us!
No, He said,
I have dressed this Beauty upon My Beloved.
I have robed My Beloved in the robe of Beauty,
in the robe of pride and honour and if there were a thousand worlds
of the size of this world, his beauty would suffice them all.
O glorious Messenger,
if only we had such power. Let us say:
Come, O Shah-i Mardan.
O Shah-i Mardan. Your Lovers are in awe of you.
They want to see, they want to see beauty.
Allahu Dhu l-Jalal also says:
I will robe them in robes of Beauty,
I shall bring a new creature into being.
Allah Almighty says:
I will dress them in robes of Beauty
for which the angels will envy them. They will say:
If only we had such a robe of Beauty.. The angels are so beautiful,
you cannot bear to look at them.
The angels said, O Lord, dress us, too, in such a robe..
No, He said. This is a robe reserved
for the glory of My Beloved.
It is not for you. Adam said, Give one to me! It is not for you either.
The other prophets asked for it - no, it is not for any of you.
This Beauty befits My Beloved,
whom I have made to be the beauty of beauties.
There are other robes suitable for you.
As-salamu alaykum, ya hadirun.
O my listeners, peace be upon you.
Allah Almighty gave salams to His Beloved:
"as-salamu alayka, ayyuha n-nabi".
Every day it is read in the tahiyyat [of our prayer]:
as-salamu 'alayka ayyuha n-nabiyyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
That is the Beloved to whom Allah gives His salams.
He is what the universe loves and yearns for;
he is the Beloved of the Almighty.
O you people, you do not know what there is to love,
you are in love with this filthy world.
Do not place your trust in people
whose faces are fair today,
but will be hideous to gaze on tomorrow.
Come, speak to us, O Shah-i Mardan.
The field today is yours. Your loving friends are in awe of you.
We have heard you, may beauty come over us now.
What is it we wish for? The robe of Beauty.
Beauty. Mankind wishes to be beautiful:
If only I could be beautiful.
If only I were more beautiful than everybody else!
O our Lord, You created us in Beauty.
The angels asked of You: Make us also like this one!
No one can be like that one, this Beauty is for him alone.
O ‘ulama of al-Azhar! O you saintly ones,
speak up and say: O people,
do not run after the world.
O Shah-i Mardan. Your loving friends are in awe of you.
Come and speak to us. That robe of Beauty,
who is he whom the Lord has dressed in it?
Speak up, O ‘ulama of al-Azhar,
‘ulama of Hijaz, Turanian ‘ulama,
‘ulama of India and China!
Say, that robe is befitting to whom?
That robe of Beauty
Allah Almighty has dressed it upon His Beloved.
No one can gaze at him. It is impossible to gaze at
the Prince of all Creation. Man would be destroyed.
O Beloved. How beautiful you are!
He who beholds your beauty
and yet does not follow you, is a beast.
May we be given a good day.
All the ladies and gentlemen attending
are in love with beauty. The universe is in love with beauty.
Who is beautiful? Not the one who paints himself with makeup.
Today he may seem beautiful, but tomorrow
that beauty will be wiped from his face.
That is only fake, fabricated beauty.
Today you are beautiful. Tomorrow that will be taken from you.
That is a physical beauty,
today it is here, tomorrow it will be gone.
Because it does not exist,
that beauty of yours,
because it is of no use,
- please speak, O Shah-i Mardan, -
that is why they bury man in the ground.
Do you know why they bury man in the ground?
How should we know? Speak, O Shah-i Mardan.
Even the earth was jealous.
Our Lord and Creator, subhanahu wa ta‘ala, created us from earth.
The earth was jealous, saying: I want this beauty to pass to me also.
Therefore, the beauty of man,
how far does it go?
A certain number of years,
and after that [it goes] into the earth.
I want to drink the beauty of the sons of Adam, it says,
I want to embrace it, it says.
That is what graves are for.
The graveyards say: We want to embrace the beauty
of the sons of man. That is what we want.
O our Lord. O Lord of Glory and Greatness
and of compelling Might,
no one can know the limits of Your Wisdom.
You alone know. He has dressed a robe upon the son of man.
The angels said, Dress it upon us too! No, impossible.
The beauty seen in the Prophet Adam
was never seen again anywhere else.
Why was it seen on the Prophet Adam?
Speak up, O you ‘ulama! Because the Prophet Adam
was the father of the Beloved of Allah.
Allah Allah.
That is why Allah Almighty spoke: O you angels,
bow down before Adam. Adam carries a secret within him.
There is in him the secret of Beauty that I dressed upon him.
Allahu akbar. That beauty is for the children of Adam.
For what reason? The love for
Allah's Beloved is in him, his beauty is in him.
Therefore the angels fell down in prostration before him.
When He said: usjudu li-Adama, bow down to Adam,
O ‘ulama, can you say -
was their bowing down for Adam's sake?
The angels did not prostrate before Adam.
Look at the Beauty in the children of Adam. You cannot bear to look.
The angels could not withstand it,
they fell down even before the command "usjudu" was spoken.
Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar
Allahu akbar, wa li-llahi l-hamd.
O you people, you
are highly honoured, very highly honoured.
You are of the Nation of that Beloved.
The honour given to you was not given to the angels.
That is why mankind was given
the kiraman katibin to stand over him.
To our right and to our left.
For what? All the time they are
throwing beauty and light upon man.
The Prophet Adam, masha'Allah.
His beauty
stunned all the angels, they threw beauty upon him.
The Prophet Adam, because he was outwardly the father
of our Holy Prophet, the Prophet Adam had great beauty.
Allahu akbar.
O our Lord, give us strength.
O Shah-i Mardan, please come.
O loving friends, let us say: Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim.
They said so and fell down in prostration.
The angels spoke the Basmala and bowed down.
O you ‘ulama. Do you know of this?
You never searched for it, that you might know it.
You never found it, so that your love might be kindled.
You just remained as if suspended. Like a tree with no roots.
After a while you will dry up. Allah Almighty has given you
such great beauty, and that beauty never
grows any less, it never decreases, it always grows.
Because what Allah has once given, He never takes it back.
Masha'Allahu kan, wa ma lam yasha' lam yakun.
Subhansin Rabbimiz. Our Lord, Absolute Glory belongs to none but You.
Speak, O Shah-i Mardan. We, your loving friends,
are in awe of your word, your knowledge.
What beautfiul words you speak!
May they refresh our hearts, may they fill us with light.
May they fill us with light and love.
O our Lord,
our Lord has not created us as a dead and dried-up tree.
Every tree has a kind of fruit.
But the secret of the fruit of the Prophet Adam
was the Prince of Creation.
Therefore, when He commanded: Perform sajda!
the very first to make sajda was Adam himself,
‘ala nabiyyina alayhi s-salatu wa s-salam.
He was the first to perform sajda.
When he perceived that light within,
the prophet Adam also performed sajda.. O Qaradawi, speak up,
don't talk about this or that fatwa!
Speak to us of theTruth. What can we have to do
with the Truth? We are weak servants.
We belong to the nation
of the Prince of Creation. That is enough to make us proud.
Don't talk about being Arab or non-Arab.
The love for the Prophet of the Last Times,
the respect and love we have for him,
that suffices to give us honour.
He is such a tree,
there are countless blessings coming
from our Holy Prophet.
He is such a tree
whose fruit never ends, whose taste never diminishes,
whose beauty defies description. O glorious Messenger!
Who could possibly express you in words?
Who could express you in words? When our mother Eve
first beheld the Prophet Adam, she did not fall in love with him.
When our Prophet Adam first set eyes
on our mother Eve, he did not fall in love with her.
It was because of the single drop
from the Divine Beauty Oceans of the Lord of Glory
which the Lord of Glory
had bestowed upon them,
that the angels could not bear it
and fell down in prostration. Tell me, O Qaradawi,
O ‘ulama of the Hijaz,
what is the beauty of women?
The beauty of women is something belonging especially to them.
One drop only, the Prophet Adam,
when the Prophet Adam saw
our mother Eve, one drop,
one drop only was given to her from that Ocean of Divine Beauty.
The Prophet Adam was amazed beyond measure.
Ah, who is that? And he performed a sajda.
What was it that made him fall down in sajda?
One drop from the Oceans of Divine Beauty,
of the Greatness and Beauty of the Lord of Might and Glory
became manifest,
became apparent to him, and
the Prophet Adam was so amazed, he ran
to perform sajda before our mother Eve.
He(swt) said: Hold it! You are not to prostrate before her!
O Shah-i Mardan!
What you say strikes awe into your loving friends.
Ah, if only we could understand you.
Allah Almighty has granted us
strength. He has given us
of His Beauty, and of His Perfection
and of His Majesty.
The sons of Adam possess some of the Divine quality of Majesty also,
and the attribute of Divine Beauty as well.
That is why the angels fell down in sajda before the command was given.
How much? You should know, they do not teach this,
Qaradawi, my brother.
Ya eh.. Qaradawi.
Speak of the beauty of our Holy Prophet, describe it.
Mankind should know of it.
A single drop of his beauty
made all the beauties of this world sink.
O my God, Allah, who is al-Qadir and al-Muqtadir,
grant us strength, to glorify You, to serve You,
to love Your Beloved.
Because in Your Beloved they behold You.
The mirror of Your Beauty
is in Your Beloved. Therefore they are in love with him, the inhabitants of
heaven and earth. Were it not for him, the Lord of Glory would not be known.
Masha'Allah.
The Oceans of Majesty are Mine, says Allah Almighty.
Of the Oceans of Beauty I gave one drop
to My Beloved. Absolute Majesty,
Absolute Beauty, Absolute Perfection are Mine.
O our Lord, our Divine Lord who possesses and bestows power,
You have created our faces to be beautiful, let us keep that beauty.
Let us not become ugly. Do not be ugly, He says.
Be beautiful.
Beauty is a manifestation of Allah Almighty's attribute
of Beauty. O Qaradawi, speak of this, O my brother!
Speak of this, O ‘ulama of the honoured al-Azhar. Describe it.
The Prophet ‘Isa became tongue-tied,
trying to describe our Holy Prophet.
The Prophet Musa became as drunk, when he tried to describe our Holy Prophet.
The Prophet Sulayman spoke
the noble name of our Holy Prophet with his grandeur;
Bilqis lost her mind over it:
"Innahu min Sulaymana wa innahu Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim." (27:30)
Min Sulayman, from Sulayman - It describes Sulayman.
Innahu min Sulayman. Allah Allah.
O our Lord. I have spoken one word.
The Prophet Sulayman was astounded. He himself bore this secret.
Ah, there are so many, many things.. But these silly humans
who are only running after eating and drinking,
have turned into animals.
Don't look for that. Seek to
drink from the endless Oceans of Divine Beauty.
So that you might gain power and your honour might increase.
And from Allah is all success.
Forgive us, O Allah. Come forward, O Shah-i Mardan.
We can only proceed up to this point.
Adab, ya Hu.
In Your Presence we may not speak.
We ask for adab, let us learn to have adab.
If people were to learn adab, they would be well-mannered
towards each other. They would respect each other.
It was given to mankind to respect and to love.
To disregard and dislike serves the devil.
Come, O Shah-i Mardan, draw you sword
Dhu l-Fiqar, and finish off the devil
and those who befriend the devil.
Let our lower soul also be wiped away.
Let it be known to our lower soul:
"innahu min Sulaymana
wa innahu Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim."
O glorious prophets! al-Fatiha.
The light of the sun in the sky
is not even a drop of the Light
of the Love of the Lord of Majesty.
There is no creature that
bears that Light but our Holy Prophet.
Masha'Allahu kan, wa ma lam yasha' lam yakun.
Give us health,
of body and of mind. O our Lord, dress us, the Nations of
Your Beloved, with grandeur O Lord.
May those who humiliate us be disgraced. O ‘ulama,
draw Dhu l-Fiqar!
Unfurl the banner of Islam, go ahead and fear not.
"inna-llaha ma'ana." (9:40) He said: "Verily, Allah is with us".
"idh qala li sahibihi: la tahzan."
Do not be afraid, my companion on the path!
Allah is with us. Allahu akbar.
O people, you should know what is adab and act accordingly.
If you had known that, you would not have poured out into the streets
like wild animals, clamouring for bread,
for water, for money, for currency.
But you did not know this.
They have not taught you.
Let them teach it to you, the ‘ulama of the noble al-Azhar,
The ‘ulama of Hijaz, the ‘ulama of Yemen.
They should not battle with each other.
Otherwise, there will be a stick. Not a stick, a sword.
O our Lord, forgive us. You are Subhan, to whom all Glory is due.
You are Sultan. We are only Your weak sevants.
May those who are
sacrificed in Your way, in the way of Shah-i Mardan,
the master of Dhu l-Fiqar,
find acceptance!
May the beauty of our faces not be taken away, may it increase and not grow less.
Those who gaze at the dunya grow ugly,
while those who gaze at our Prophet grow more beautiful.
You must understand this, O ‘ulama and umara! al-Fatiha.
