This is a DC to AC power inverter
three hundred Watts
If I connect this
to a twelve volt battery
like the one on a
car or a
solar system
and
turn it on
I can take the twelve Volt
direct current from the battery
and get out
230
Volts AC
and then I can connect something like this
220 Volt
fluorescent light
to the inverter
and it will work
like other things that are not more than
three hundred watts
from this
If I take a
battery charger
a 220 volt
battery charger
connect it to the inverter
and then
put a bulb on there
I'm going to connect
the amperemeter
okayso that the current
from the battery
going to the
inverter
well be measured here
then I can see ..
( aa if I'm lucky)
the current
that's being drawn here
1.3 amps
light up the lamp, the 12 Volt lamp that's being run by the
battery charger through
the inverter
about 1.3
amps to run
that there.
Now if I take the same lamp
now I'm running it directly from the 12 Volt battery, I'm getting
only about 0.6 amps
yes
