Accurately measuring your window or patio door opening is a key step to successful installation
of your Vertical Cellular shade.
If you've determined that your shade will be mounted above a door or window, for a French
door for example, you will use a projection mount or a direct wall mount.
For these types of installations, begin by measuring the exact width to be covered by
the shade. This usually includes the frame around the opening.
If additional light control and privacy are desired, add three inches on both the left
and the right. So the number that you write down should be six inches more than
the width you initially measured. This will ensure adequate coverage for light control
and privacy.
Next, measure the exact height of the area to be covered by the shade. Measure in three
places: the left, the center and the right.
If you plan to mount the shade on the wood work above the opening, record the shortest
dimension.
If you plan to mount the shade above the woodwork add a minimum of two inches to the height
of the wood work and write down this number.
The correct size shade for your opening will be expressed by the width measurement you
have written down followed by the height measurement.
