Hi this is Chris for Music Radar, Guitarist and Total Guitar here at Frankfurt Musikmesse
2013 with Jay who's going to tell us all about the PRS P22 trem. So Jay over to you.
>>So this is brand new for the show in fact this is one of the first prototypes, it's
our trem guitar but it has the piezo system in it. It's the first time we've done a trem
system with the piezo, so it works like the old system, basically you've got a switch
for either magnetic or piezo, or both together, so it's a 3 way switch. There's a volume and
tone and a 5-way for the magnetics and then a volume for the piezo. On the output section
we have both magnetic outputs are mixed together whichever you want, or you've got piezo as
well. So you've got a battery compartment that drives the piezo pre-amp which is only
for the piezo, it's not for the magnetic, so if you happen to lose your battery after
a couple hundred hours this continues the work. Behind the battery though, there's a
6 level control one for each of your piezos, so you can re-voice, re-balance your bridge
so it gives you, you know, any possiblility you want as far as you want your voicing. Sounds amazing,
stays in tune and part of the trick is the way it works is it uses a copier ribbon between
the bridge and the pre-amp so it's designed for like millions of times of being fluxed
back and forth so it doesn't wear out. In the event that it would ever, you can actually
detatch that cable between the pre-amp and the bridge, it's easily replaceable. It's
very very slick but the best part it sounds freaking amazing.
>>Cool, shall we hear it then? >>Here's a normal magnetic
[music] Sings like a bird but it has
[music] So it's got that sound you know
[music] >>That's great thank you so when are these available?
>>May.
>>Thanks very much Jay, this is Chris here from Music Radar, Guitarist and Total Guitar
