Hi there,
This is a response to a video by hysterical Hamza, Hamza Andreas Tzortzis, in which he
once again tries to pull the wool over people's eyes by twisting, turning, misrepresenting,
lying, pretending and simply bullshitting to make the Muslim Koran look better than
it is.
Humble Hamza has released this video on a topic some might find absolutely boring by
now: Science & Revelation: Embryology in the Qur'an.
I for one am so thoroughly bored with this by now I ignored it, because there is no embryology
in the Koran, but creation. As I was asked to make a comment, I suppose I'll spend a
few minutes on this.
It's our usual world champion brain contortionist trying to sell his usual, primitive ideas
to unsuspecting fellow Muslims, who don't check or challenge anything they hear in hopeless
Hamza's lengthy monologues.
Histrionic Hamza this time comes up with the notion that science only produces iphones
or tablets. His shallow mind does not conceive of possible errors due to him totally ignoring
research, observation and measurement. He says that science is inaccurate and merely
speculative. Why? Well, because science can't prove science. And promptly proceeds to tell
us that the Koran is of divine origins. Why? Because the Koran says so. How many facepalms
is that worth?
Ok, so let's go and take a look at the video itself.
0:00 intro science, flawed approach because he claims science is not the only way to understand
nature
>> Because science is not the only way to form
conclusions about man, life and the Universe >>
Does he give us an alternative? Yes, the Koran. 0:03 he says that science is application,
i.e. iphone, ipad, medicine 0:04 wonderful, unchanged, explicit etc the
Koran is 0:07 stupid games, questioning round Earth,
making photos not trustworthy
>>
Would you believe me, just necause I've shown you an image?
showing his own ignorance (mountain, experiments, SpaceShipOne) but that's too complicated
0:09 now we get good reasons, why the Koran is right and why our own view might be wrong,
like Muhammad is more real than own mother. Has he never heard of something called DNA?
Can it get worse? Lack of knowledge and total ignorance of anything scientific. And here
we get a glimpse of the real hardened Hamza, a despotic and choleric person, who says he
goes everywhere and atheists are hecklers.
0:10 and remember in a previous video I already pointed out how Hamza can be very different
and cold. When he told Professor Hoodbhoy "I don't care, you can address it later, not
my problem." This is reality.
Koran, hadith, (if not finished - how study book) use Koran to interpret science
0:14 science has made advancements against our intuition, morals and humanity. Science
has done bad things??? How can science DO something? Can a hammer lying on a table get
up and kill someone? No. So why and how can science? It is a tool you tool. He wants moral
filters for science - like moral filters stopped the guy in Toulouse from killing people? Like
moral filters are keeping Muslims out of jails? 0:16 "old style" science in Koran=ambiguous
and Teleological=make you think (not! = final cause, design, purpose)
0:18 Muslim Toledo = basis for science, hypocritical first slamming unreliable and then base
0:19 definition of science, not by a scientist, but a philosopher. Then telling us what science
does, not what it is. Why not: a disciplined way to study the natural world, using observation,
testing, experimentation and measuring? 0:22 slams again "old style" science in the
Koran, science is speculative, 0:23 skepticism=there is no truth, the Koran
does not negate established fact or reality, scientific conclusion is not fact
0:24 sky blue or green, quotes Koran contains scientific facts recently discovered
0:25 Earth round or flat (scientific only), it can go against science, but not established
facts 0:26 science useless to prove itself, maths
or morals. Helpless Hamza now lies, saying that science is limited to 5 senses, helpless
Hamza has no clue what he is talking about. But he does so anyway - and very loudly. He
forgets about others sensors e.g. to detect x-rays or ultrasound.
0:27 scientism, amoral (science is a tool!!!) People utilize science, making applications
immoral or not! It is not a worldview or a religion.
0:29 established reality: development of the human embryo. We get the usual 3 sentences
he knows in Arabic and a lot of rambling. 0:32 "process" nutfah
Abracadabra, correlate with other verses, 100's of meanings.
Male and female mingled which you find in Galen's 2 semens, where the female produces
some sort of *** too. Ah, but Galen does not use the word nutfah, so he must be talking
about something completely different. Note how Hamza always uses and hides behind
the word nutfah, never clarifying which of the many meanings he actually means.
Hilarious Hamza now goes off into other types of established facts: miracles. They transcend
science. Making a human from clay is perfectly acceptable. Natural even. Because it's his
god doing it. And he's not using any clay, but very specific clay, from a very specific
clay pit, with this very specific clay. What is it? Where is it? No answer. But "modern
science" - whatever that may mean - is good enough again to extract the knowledge about
the composition of humans and the corresponding clay. Hey, it's only speculative, remember?
But now why on Earth does this clever book never mention that humans are not clay-, but
carbon-based?
Let's look at the basics. In the beginning I said that there is no embryology in the
Koran. Why did I say this and why is my statement correct?
Embryology is the scientific study of human formation, early growth, and development from
the gametes to the fully formed foetus.
So what is essential and what we can't do without as anyone knows is the ***, not
***, the ovum or egg, the process of these 2 cells merging or fertilization and this
zygote then multiplying into a blastocyst and then attaching itself to the uterus wall
via an umbilical cord being fed by the placenta. Subtract any one of these components and you
have nothing other than some dead cells. Does this qualify as established fact? Is any of
this found in the Koran? No. All we get there is clay, blood, flesh and bones, assembled
by a god. It's known as creation. Not science.
But hopeless Hamza ignores all of this, rejects science and declares his version established
fact. How this is possible remains a mystery. How one gets from scientific conclusions to
established fact is not explained. And hilarious Hamza trips over this himself later on several
times.
0:35:55 funny how the Koran is suddenly profound when we correlate it with modern science,
which, as he's just told us, is merely speculative.
Medical terms galore and then, at the end, 1 tiny Arabic word, insinuating that this
1 word is a kind of place-holder for the books he just quoted. Remember in the beginning
he mentioned the "old-fashioned" "retrospective analysis"? Well, the same is happening here.
The knowledge of today is projected to make sense of an old, vague, imprecise and ambiguous
book.
And I think a cleric needs to have a serious word with this guy. He constantly forgets
to call Allah Allah swt ("Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala"). 32:44 How careless. Also, why does no Muslim
ever ask why he uses the conditional so much? Hamza is constantly saying this can mean or
could happen, etc
As per usual, Hamza clings to words and does not understand the meaning.
Shows images of embryos when he's just told us that images mean ***.
He mentions book after book, author after author, all specialists in their fields. Did
none of them during their years of study come across the Koran with its "profound" knowledge,
which would make it a living miracle today - if it were true?
How come real-life embryologists laugh at Keith Moore and his hi-jacked book?
This shows that reading up a few internet pages and a couple of books does not give
you the knowledge to compete with real-life scholars, teachers and professors. But Hamza
bravely ignores this and says his nonsensical trivia is - what he likes to think - peer
reviewed,so he rattles off some names of institutions and people, saying this is what he, Hamza,
calls peer review. Oh boy! Does he tell us what they said? No. Do we get access to the
results? No. Does he give us the link to the publication? No. Does he let us in on the
selection criteria? No.
All we learn is that a guy who translates classic books like the first chapter of the
Koran says: it is sound!
There! That's clinched it. Reviewed and found to be sound. I need to stop listening to this
high-pitched, excited voice feeding people total superstitious nonsense, as I drop several
IQ points every single time.
0:49 PZ Myers substantiates his view.
It is really too stupid. What is stupidity squared? PZ makes fun of Hamza and Hamza only
sees a single word and is happy - without reading the sentence or the paragraph.
0:50 every possible contention Contorts words. What he has to do is frantically
look for publications mentioning his 3 key-words which he has hand-picked from the selection
of possible translations because he already knows what he wants to look for and what the
result needs to be. What a dishonest tactic! Now I know that there are uneducated and primitive
Muslims out there who lap up these falsehoods unquestioned. But isn't it exactly knowing
this that should stop a person, even with low moral standards, from doing this?
I get so sick and tired of Hamza saying this conforms with that and it proves the Koran
is right. And 50 milliseconds later carries on: but this could also refer to - and now
it's something completely different, but they all conform with the word mentioned in the
Koran.
0:54 bones 0:55 there's a lot of science here - which
can't be totally correct because it is not established reality. Hamza catches himself
out again and again, using science for an established fact in our real world.
1:00 why the break? Is it so unimportant? Or a mistake? Hiding what? Helpless hopeless
Hamza
1:03 other forms
Speculative science
1:05 copied Greeks
Emotional Muhammad was not a liar. He, in his childish naiveté, assumes that the sentences
which were later collected to make up the Koran, were solely dictated by Muhammad, who,
in turn, received them privately from an angel.
1:11 Koran, no Muhammad says male and female This entails that Muhammad rejected what was
wrong because he was the author of the text. Wasn't the Muslim god the author?
Instead of looking at the Koranic text and looking for similarities in Greek medicine,
which is what any normal person would do, he looks for discrepancies, of which there
are many. Naturally. But he skips the similarities, which would not prove anything, but show only
a possibility, how the stories could have been written down and made it into the Koran.
1:15 Hamza lies. He says Galen writes that the 2 semens mix, just as is mentioned in
nutfah, and then mixes with menstrual blood, the alaqa in the Koran. Hamza says in any
shape or form
Alaqa has always been translated as a clot of blood, except by Yusuf Ali, who inserts
the leech-like.
22:5 We created you from dust, then from a ***-drop, then from a clinging clot
23:14 Then We made the *** into a clot of congealed blood
40:67 It is He who created you from dust, then from a ***-drop, then from a clinging
clot 75:38 Then he became a clot of blood, then
He created (him) and made (him) perfect 96:2 He created man from a clot of blood
The Koran does not mention the blood in any shape or form? But I suppose helpless Hamza
will now claim he said "menstrual blood", which indeed, is not mentioned in the Koran.
3:6 He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He pleases.
So this god thinks there should be con-joined twins and babies with any type of deformation
anyone can think of. Congratulations.
But now hang on, which version used in the Koran do we believe?
40:67 He is the One who created you from dust, then from a drop of ***, then from a clot.
After that, He takes you out as an infant. Then, (He makes you grow) so that you reach
your full maturity
Or
23:12-14 We have created man from an extract of clay. Then We made him a ***-drop in
a firm resting place. Then We turned the ***-drop into a clot, then We turned the clot into
a fetus-lump, then We turned the fetus-lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with
flesh; thereafter We developed it into another creature.
Or is
80:19 ff from a drop of ***! Then doth He make His path smooth for him; Then He causeth
him to die, and putteth him in his grave;
better than the above?
Also, we have 11 or 12 different materials, which are used to create humans. Which one
should we take? All? A sample? None? Who decides?
1:20 problems typing. Very sloppy his Akademic Verlag, 1992 is actually Akademie Verlag,
1992. This is a petty point - but reflects the general attitude to precise research.
And please remember: hapless Hamza is paid to do this. This is his job. If I were this
sloppy in job I would not last a day.
Another example: one of his sources, a Christos Simelidis criticizes the Koran and Hamza asks
why he did not mention Galen and the similarity. Well, Simelidis is making fun of the early
Muslims in his capacity of scholar of literature and linguistics. He brings together different
translations and commentaries to show his conclusion on the concept of a compact god.
Is he
a
medical doctor? No. Does he need to know what Galen taught? No. So why does Hamza say that
his not mentioning Galen substantiates the correctness of the Koran? Nobody will ever
know or understand what goes on inside that sparsely populated brain.
Oil 4th gear
Indicator Mirror
Refers to the complete and accurate creation of a car. Because the oil can mean 1,2,3,4,5
and means engine, the 4th gear is a clear pointer that a gearbox, which everybody knows
is necessary, is attached to the engine, the indicator means that the electrical system
is installed and the driver can now show the path he will take and communicate with other
drivers and the mirror can only be there if the interior is complete as well. So these
4 words describe the entire processes of putting together a car from various materials and
components.
That's how ridiculously stupid it is.
If someone now were to point out that gearboxes were known 100 years earlier, he would retort
that those only had 3 gears and would rattle off a number of books, all saying that gearboxes
were sold with 3 gears. Hapless Hamza would completely ignore the concept of a gearbox
but concentrate only on the "3 gears". This is what he calls addressing possible contentions.
This is why I always burst out laughing when I hear him use words that are completely alien
to him: academic and intellectual.
In summary, I think I can safely say there is no embryology in the Koran. All it says
is that a god created everything and gullible people need to believe it. There are some
words all over the book, referring to the creation of humans, none describing a process,
but just single words.
In fact there is nothing of any scientific value in the Koran, which represents the knowledge
of the people of the 7th century in Arabia. This is why nobody has ever quoted the Koran
as being accurate in anything remotely factual or scientific.
And as a very clever gentleman said: science does not make it impossible to believe a god
exists - it just makes it possible to not believe a god exists.
Thank you for your time.
