The NZRU held its annual meeting in Wellington today
and Te Karere has unearthed this year's plans
for the Maori All Blacks.
But as Heta Gardiner reports, at least one Maori rugby stalwart
is unimpressed with the union's commitment to Maori rugby.
In 2012, they toured Europe.
Last year, it was North America.
Now, after an exclusive interview
with the chairman of the Maori Rugby Board,
we can now reveal that Asia is next on the agenda.
This information hasn't yet been released,
so further details were not revealed,
however, if the tour follows the pattern of years past,
it will likely feature one or two club games,
and an international test against Japan.
However, Maori All Blacks former coach Matt Te Pou
doesn't see the value in such games.
When Te Pou was in charge,
they played, and outplayed, the British Lions.
He's now questioning; where have those games gone?
Wayne Peters feels their strength is their downfall.
More details on the tour to Asia will surface in the coming days.
