Okay I'm in the shop again, Today's project is a little different we're actually
not going to make anything out of wood... this project is mainly to your feature your projects that
you create in your shop
The easiest way I've found and least expensive
is to make a
custom light box
you don't need many supplies and it's very straight forward and
I'll go over the steps on how to make it because I'm going to make one right now in the shop
so uh... some of the supplies you'll need will be include in our plans which are available on our website
to make our project
all we're gonna need are a couple of pieces of equipment
x-acto knife
sharper scissors
measuring tape
pencil ... packing tape
supplies we'll need
post board, which is very expensive we picked up this piece at Michaels for
thirty cents
Lowes box, small size
uh... this cost seventy-nine cents so
less than two dollars we're going to make a beautiful light box oh one last thing that we're
going to need
shop towels, now you can use old t-shirts so there free
uh... the shop towels I think were two dollars for a ten pack so we're still under five dollars
okay so the first thing I'm going to do is
seal one end of the box
okay next step is to make
three cutouts in our box
i have some one and a half inch stock laying around that I will use as a ruler
So first I lay it on the edge
and draw a mark
now the line that I'm going to draw
is going to be on this flap, I'm going to leave this flap on
so right were that crease is
draw a line
okay now that I've
marked my three sides, my top and my two sides I'm going to get my x-acto knife and
very carefully
cut out the inside hole
okay time for the shop towels
okay
now I have my shop towels on the top
and two sides
flap here
so now all we have to do is
mount our poster board
right inside
in order to do that
we line it up
place a mark (and cut)
pretty good
take a piece of tape take the poster board to the top
make sure there are no wrinkles
we want a smooth background
the last part
will be to add the light
Now with a couple of shop lights
so I can control the light inside the box
my camera on tripod with the self-timer on
i can take beautiful pictures of all my projects
I'll take this over to the computer
chop off the sides clean it up
this is what the results look like
